There was an excellent report on the Save Sonning Library campaign on tonight’s Six O’Clock Radio news (10/1/2011). Sonning Common is in Oxfordshire, the backyard of PM David Cameron and Culture Minister Ed Vaizey. The programme interviewed local campaigner Ros Varnes and featured an interesting quote by Ed Vaizey:
“Libraries are a fantastic space. I don’t think any local authority should be saying we’re cutting our library service to save our children’s service.”
The item is about 25 minutes into the bulletin.
You obviously missed the news item on ITV Meridian then?
