Location

Our main site is based on the York Science Park next to the University of York (www.york.ac.uk) and the village of Heslington. There are many local amenities within walking distance of the Academy including banks, pubs, a post office, a sandwich shop and a number of cafés. Next year, the University is opening a brand new sports village and the city of York boasts great arts, leisure and cultural facilities. We also have offices in Scotland and Wales.

Your Colleagues

The Academy employs in the region of 120 people directly. Whilst some of them work in the York office there are also small offices in both Scotland and Wales. In addition, a larger number of staff work remotely but are in the York office at least 3 times a month.

Induction

When you initially join the Academy you will receive a structured induction and meet with a range of different colleagues from different functions. This will be further supplemented by Academy wide induction and away days which will take place in the first few months of your employment. You will continue to learn about the Academy and its work through weekly bulletins and monthly staff briefings.

You will also have representation on the Staff Council which meets every two months to discuss issues affecting staff.

Head of Arts and Humanities

This is a senior post responsible for leading a team of discipline experts in the arts and humanities in supporting and influencing the national agenda for teaching and the student learning experience.

Discipline Lead for Finance and Accounting

£36,689 - £56,330 plus benefits

York or home-based, relocation allowance available.

Working with academics who teach finance, accounting and related subjects, you will develop new services and strategies that provide specialist support to HE staff across the UK.

Account Manager (3 posts)

£56,330 - £69,810 plus benefits

These new, senior positions will lead the HEA’s programme of engagement with HEIs. This is an opportunity to work with institutional leaders to provide support and services that make a positive difference to learning and teaching.
