b. (Cincinnati, Ohio) 1975,

Raised in Georgia. Lives in New York City.

I began my career as a photographer in 1992 with an assignment (from the Georgia Department of Tourism) documenting life in the state of Georgia over July 4th weekend.

In 1996, I began photographing assignments for The New York Times. Six years later I was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in Breaking News and was part of a team that contributed to The New York Times winning a Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for the coverage following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Over the years I have photographed subjects ranging from teenage prostitutes to presidential candidates. My photograph of a prison guard at New York City's Riker's Island is included in the New York Times Magazine Millennium Time Capsule — to be opened in the year 3000.
