BIO:

Harlo is a precious girl that has come into her foster home where she is doing.  Harlo came from a breeder in AL that dump her but wouldn’t give us her puppy because they thought she had demodectic mange.  Come to find out she had a flea allergy and after we gave her  Frontline and put her on some anti-itch meds her skin is all cleared up.
Harlo is housetrained but we recommend positive reinforcement when she transitions to her forever home to encourage the continuation of her good house manners.  Harlo is one of the happiest, friendliest and quite beautiful dachshunds ever, she loves running in the back yard and even loves playing with all the animals in my home, she is great to cuddle with and even sleep with in the big bed.  Harlo is so precious her new family will be glad to have found her.

Please if you are looking to add a little love bug to your family Harlo would be your girl.  If you feel you can give Harlo the home she so deserves please fill out an adoption application.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
