Most of the major airlines have lounge facilities in the large international airports, and will allow their first, business and frequent flyer passengers unlimited use. While some airlines will restrict the use of their lounges to frequent flyers of a particular grade (that is, those frequent flyers who have already earned a certain amount of points), others will happily allow trial lounge use to new frequent flyers. Although many people may avoid signing up for frequent flyer programmes because they don't think they will get any use from the service, it pays to join up anyway. Because many of the large airlines will only allow you to reclaim previous flight points for flights you have taken in the last two to six months, you don't want to be left regretting you'd signed up the first time you flew with the airline instead of later on down the line.
