	Waverton Canal Miles of country lanes and canal tow paths great to walk your dog along with pubs along the route with beer gardens if you fancy a rest. There is a car park situated near Waverton School on Eggbridge Lane. One of our favourite dog walks in Chester. see Google Maps
	Whitegate Way A former railway line Whitegate Way offers 6 miles of traffic free lanes to walk along. Car park situated off the A54. Popular for horse riding, dog walking and cycling. www.discovercheshire.co.uk
	The Gowy, Mickle Trafford The Gowy is located near Mickle Trafford between the Nags Head pub and the Shrewsbury Arms. Great for dog walking there are lots of fields and paths to explore. It can get quite wet and muddy so wellies are essential in the winter months and towells for muddy paws! Take the A56 through Mickle Trafford, the entrance to the car park is just after the Nags Head pub. see Google Maps
	Delamere Forest Delamere offers lots of different trails. Parking at the visitor centre requires pay and display ticket or you can park for free in some of the laybys through the forest. The forest can get busy with walkers and cyclists but there are some quieter less popular routes to explore and the dogs love to explore through the forest. A very popular dog walking route and a stop at the visitor centre provides water for the dogs and lots of dogs to socialise with. www.forestry.gov.uk/delamere
	Dukes Drive, Chester Duke's Drive near the Overleigh roundabout. The drive was previously used to provide access to Eaton Hall, the home of the Duke of Westminster. Nowadays the drive is open to the public and is popular with dog walkers, cyclists, and occasionally you see a few people off for a sunday stroll, it provides a link to the village of Eccleston as well as the river. There are lots of trees and smells for the dogs to enjoy and make sure you don't wear your best shoes because it can sometimes get muddy at the bottom end. see Google Maps
	Mickle Trafford Greenway Dissused railway can be accessed via Station Lane in Mickle Trafford. Popular with dog walkers and cyclists. Look out for the wicker dog and horse along route. see Google Maps
	Great Barrow There are lots of connecting public footpaths around the village of Great Barrow just a few miles out of Chester. The footpaths lead through fields, country lanes and a small wood full of bluebells. The wood can be accessed from Heath Lane but walking through the village you will see many signs indicating footpaths, have a wander and see where they take you. see Google Map
	Helsby Hill A steep climb up rewards you with far reaching views at the top of Helsby Hill. Carry on into the village of Alvanley and the White Lion pub serving food and drink. Parking is available in Helsby Quarry Car Park, cross over the road and up Hill Road South to begin the walk.
	Hoole Park, Hoole Hoole Park can be found on Panton Road off Canadian Avenue in Hoole. There is a small car park at the entrance. The park offers a large area good for letting dogs have a run around with plenty of dog bins at the edges of the park. see Google Map
	Upton Dene With pedestrian access from The Bridleway opposite The Frog pub on Liverpool Road or for residents via the new housing estate at Upton Dene. Various routes accessible round the edge of fields leading to the canal and the Golf Course. see Google Map
	Legion Meadow Christleton The Legion Meadow in Christleton is a nice place to take a stroll. Accessed via a narrow footpath in the centre of Christleton the meadow leads to some fields which allow you to walk around the edge. Walking over the fields takes you to the Duck Pond where there is a small car park. Dog bins are provided in Christleton. see Google Map
	Lime Woodfields, Newton, Chester Main entrance located in Newton Chester off the road called Kingsway, there is a big field here which is great for the dogs to run and play and is popular with dog walkers, you can also access the cycle path or greenaway from the field here which will take you in one direction toward Mickle Trafford or if you go the opposite direction towards Chester City and further on from that will take you all the way to Connah's Quay. The Greenaway is great to walk the dogs along and usually keeps them clean on a wet winters day but watch out for the exits along the way if you have a dog that likes to wander and investigate. see Google Map
	Westminster Park, Chester Westminster Park is found along Hough Green A5104 this park has won a green flag award for an excellent park and a variety of facilities such as an outdoor exercise equipment, bmx bike track, children's playground, small golf course, tennis club, croquet and bowls club, also along with all this it is very popular with dog walkers, it has a big large field and it is a great way for friendly dogs to interact and play and a good way for puppies to socialise. The park is kept very clean and tidy and there are plenty of dog bins around the park. see Google Map
	Tarvin, Woodlands Walk Tarvin Community Woodlands Walk offers a short stroll through open woodland and meadows. Accessed via Townfield Lane, just outside Tarvin on the A51 there is a small car park and dog bins are provided along the route. A popular dog walk in Tarvin. see Google Map
	Queens Park Road, Vicars Cross This park may also be know as Josh’s Jumps there is a small bike track and a children’s play area. There is a small park which has a path that goes all the way around it’s enclosed and there are only two exits which have gates on them, plenty of doggie bins, there is a field big enough to play ball or let your dog play with others and there is a little built up section of trees like a mini woodland as well. see Google Map
	Eccleston Walk, Chester The River Dee in Eccleston, great if you dog loves to swim and also equally great for long walks either back towards Chester or in the opposite direction towards Aldford. There are plenty of open fields for dogs to run in, sometimes there are cows and horses about so keep a look out. There is a carpark here as well. see Google Map
	Marford Quarry A disused sand and gravel quarry, full of woodland and trees this is a great place for dogs, they can run about and also there are lots ofinteresting smells for them. Even though this is an old quarry there isn’t any big drops so it is safe. There are paths throughout although some get very muddy so don’t wear your Sunday best and there is only one bin which is at the entrance. Access is along the B5445 and turn off on Pant Lane. see Google Map
	Wepre Park Wepre Park sits on 160 acres and has many visitors. There is a car park and a Visitor Centre with shop for refreshments. There are football pitches, a children’s play section and there are plenty of trails and paths, places for the dogs to run free and there is a little river running through part of it. You can also access Ewloe castle from Wepre Park as well. see Google Map
	Erddig Walk This is a lovely country walk, it has a riverside, park and woodland sections, popular with walkers and dog walkers, there’s a couple of dog bins but not many. Sometimes there are sheep about in certain sections so you may have to put your dog on the lead at times. If your dog likes water they will love it here as they can have a splash about and the river isn’t very deep. see Google Map
	Alyn Waters - Llay & Wrexham The largest Country Park in the Wrexham area, Alyn Waters is situated in the beautiful Alyn Valley. There are two sides to the park, the Wrexham side and the Llay side, both sides of the park equally have their benefits with Llay having lots of open grass land space and woodland trees for dogs to run in. The Wrexham side has the riverside walks, woodland, a childrens play area and the visitors centre so on a hot sunny day you can get a drink or ice cream. You can access both sides walking as well and they are connected via a country lane. This is a lovely day out for all the family and the dogs of course. see Google Map Llay see Google Map Wrexham
	Wealstone Lane Play Area, Upton Wealstone Lane Play Area provides a large park where the dogs can run around and play ball. Accessed from Weal Stone Lane there is a car park and dog bins are available. There is also a childrens play area sectioned off. see Google Map
	Stanney woods, Ellesmere Port Stanney Woods is a woodland area near Cheshire Oaks, it's popular with the local residents as houses surround the woodland area. The paths are setup on a circuit and there are a few dog bins around. see Google Map

Bear & Billet, Chester Former town house of the Earl of Shrewsbury and birth place to John Lennon's Grandmother The Bear & Billet has been an inn since the 18th Century. Dogs are welcome in the beer yard and inside. 94 Lower Bridge Street Chester, Cheshire, CH1 1RU.
The Plough Inn, Christleton, nr Chester The Plough Inn located in Christleton is a traditional inn welcoming well behaved dogs if kept on a lead (excluding the restaurant). Plough Lane, Christleton, Chester. CH3 7PT.
The Grosvenor Arms, Aldford The Grosvenor Arms has a large beer garden where dogs are welcome. A good place to stop after a nice walk along the river at Ecclestone. Chester Road, Aldford, Chester, Cheshire. CH3 6HJ.
The Architect, 54 Nicholas Street, Chester, CH1 2NX The Architect is a classic pub restaurant within Chester’s city walls overlooking the racecourse at Roodee. Dogs are welcome outside in the gardens.
The Boathouse, 21 The Groves, Chester, CH1 1SD It is located right on the River Dee. Dogs are allowed on the terrrace.
The Redhouse, Dee Banks, Great Boughton, Chester, CH3 5UX Set overlooking the river dee and the chester meadows, there are stunning views the building is also very lovely. You and your pooch are welcome on the sun terrace.
The Ship Inn, 18 Handbridge, Chester, CH4 7JE The Ship Inn is a charming pub and restaurant just over the river dee bridge into handbridge. Dogs are welcome inside the pub.
