Reviews:
Military In Scale Magazine, March 1995, page 14:
"This is the latest book to be released by Armour Archive and follows a similar format to previous releases, that of a detailed listing of many German tanks preserved in museums and collections around the world.
"The book is divided into specific vehicle types i.e. Panzer IV, StuG III etc with details of where examples of the type can be found. The title, a brief description, and in most cases a black and white photograph, are followed by information on the whereabouts of the vehicle. Many rare and interesting types are listed such as the Minenraumer at Kubinka and a Waffentrager weapon carrier at the Ordnance Museum, Aberdeen Proving Ground in the USA.
"The 96 page soft back book contains black and white photographs on the inside and is bound by a full colour glossy cover that features nine photographs of various tanks. This is an excellent book that is well researched and presented and is sure to be a hit with enthusiasts and modellers of German tanks. A second volume is planned for the future which will cover the remaining German medium, heavy and super heavy tanks which will complete a highly useful reference work that could help plan your next holiday!"

Military Modelling Magazine, April 1995, page 13:
"Anyone with even the remotest interest in German armoured fighting vehicles should have this book on their library shelf, listing, as it does, 140 existing German vehicles and their locations. Modellers will find it invaluable in that it should lead them to a location where they can research the subject of their latest model even further.
"The book is organised logically from First World War Tanks through to those, listed by type, from the Second World War. It is surprising just what panzers still exist. Plenty of illustrations are included too, showing the majority of museum exhibits the book catalogues and there's even a drawing of the unique Minenraumer included.
"Another book, which will continue the survey of preserved German AFVs, Panzer V Panther to Leopard 2 is in preparation and for publication around Easter time. Guides on preserved British, American and Russian tanks are planned too. Excellent value for money and recommended. (Trevor Larkum, along with Jim Kinnear, produces our recent series articles about the Russian tank museum at Kubinka)." K.M.J.

Wheels & Tracks Magazine, Number 51, page 49:
"Another private venture by this indefatigable researcher, this is much more detailed than his earlier Preserved Tanks in France (see W&T 49). It covers some 140 preserved full-track AFVs, from WWI to WWII inclusive, except that those beyond the PzKpfw IV, which is a pity. One 'wheeled' machine that did get in was the schwere Minenraumer of Alkett, with some suberb diagrams for modellers. A must for armour buffs and we hope that in due course a comparable review of other surviving ex-Wehrmacht vehicles will be forthcoming."

Museum Ordnance Magazine:
"Sometimes what seems like an obvious idea is overlooked for years and then suddenly someone finally does it. Such is the case with this publication. As part of a growing series, Larkum covers about 150 German light and medium tanks from WWI to WWII. But this is not a technical history of the vehicles, it is a finder's guide telling the reader where in the world he can find examples of each.
"Each vehicle heading begins with a description of the type and its specifications. This text, although brief, is well written and very informative. Then there is an individual listing for each example, noting where the example can be found, and its general condition. In many cases Larkum also provides key facts about specific vehicles, i.e. the PzKpfw IV Ausf H at the Panzermuseum in Switzerland has four roadwheels on either side from a PzKpfw III and the tracks from a Centurion! May sound obvious to many but sometimes people take museum pieces a little too seriously and can wind up with some very dubious information. Although few of the pieces are tackled in depth (not the purpose of the book), there is a lot of good information and detail to warrant this book in your collection.
"The photographs are of good quality and clearly show the general condition of the vehicle identified. This can be very useful in planning a trip to see if the vehicle is in the kind of shape you want to see.
"This is the type of information that can be invaluable to an armor historian or scale modeler. Larkum has another book already released entitled Preserved Tanks in France. The next in the series is believed to be Preserved German Tanks 2: Panzer V Panther to Leopard 2, followed by Preserved Tanks in Russia with several other titles also planned.
"Well priced and well done."
