CTV and CTV Two New Fall 2011 Schedule

We just got word about the new fall 2011 schedule for CTV and CTV TWO (formerly A Network). Many of your favourite series will return this fall but there is a line up of some interesting shows as well. Here is the full list.

ANDERSON (CTV and CTV Two)
Anderson Cooper hosts Anderson, a Monday through Friday one-hour Daytime talk show covering social issues, trends and events, pop culture, human interest stories and populist news. Cooper taps into his compassion and fascination with the human condition to share compelling stories and tackle controversial issues, while bringing his humorous, personal take on the world to a daytime audience. Shot in New York, with in-studio audience and home viewer participation, Anderson will create a daily destination for generations to be informed, entertained and connected to each other and the world.

CHARLIE’S ANGELS (CTV)
“Hello, Angels!” Hello, Charlie!” A familiar greeting to a generation of TV viewers. The revival of Charlie’s Angels, based on the 1976 hit series of the same name, rockets the cult sensation to a whole new level. Thanks to mysterious billionaire Charlie Townsend, three beautiful women, each unique in background and talents, are given a chance to escape their checkered pasts. Under the watchful eye of their handler, Bosley (Ramon Rodriguez), Kate (Annie Ilonzeh), Eve (Minka Kelly) and Abby (Rachael Taylor) work for the exclusive Townsend Detective Agency and tackle cases that take them from the dangerous drug dens to the glamorous beachfront mansions of Miami. Each week the Angels kick butt and take charge while maintaining nearly perfect coiffures.

FREE AGENTS (CTV Two)
Free Agents is a new comedy set in the workplace that explores the trials and tribulations of two public relations executives on relationship rebounds. Alex (Hank Azaria) is newly divorced and his coworker Helen (Kathryn Hahn) is obsessed with her deceased fiancé. After a drunken night, Alex and Helen end up in bed together, but Helen decides that they should only be friends and nothing more. Meanwhile Alex’s coworkers, Dan (Mo Mandel) and Gregg (Al Madrigal), and Stephen (Anthony Head) try to get Alex back out on the dating scene which makes Helen rather jealous, bringing them back where they started – in a casual, intimate and beautifully awkward relationship.

GRIMM (CTV)
Inspired by the classic Grimm’s fairy tales, Grimm is a thrilling new crime drama that is sure to send shivers up your spine. Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) thought he prepared himself for the realities of working as a homicide detective until he started seeing things he couldn’t quite explain. When his ailing Aunt Marie (Kate Burton) arrives, Nick’s life turns upside down as she reveals they are descendants of an elite group of hunters, also known as “Grimms,” who fight to keep the balance of humanity safe from the supernatural creatures of the world. As Nick digs deeper into her past, he realizes that he will have to shoulder the responsibility of his ancestors and contend with a larger-than-life mythology of the Brothers Grimm that is now all too real.

MAN UP (CTV Two)
Will’s grandfather fought in WWII. Will’s father fought in Vietnam. Will plays Call of Duty on his PS3 and drinks non-dairy hazelnut creamer. So what happened to all the real men? They’re still here — they just smell like pomegranate body wash now. Meet Will (Mather Zickel). His evolved, sensitive nature is why his awesome wife, Theresa (Teri Polo), married him. But in Man Up Will and his friends find themselves wondering — in a world of Axe ads and manscaping — what does it really mean to be a guy anymore? Will is more interested in finding the perfect gift for his son’s 13th birthday than in doing his job selling insurance; sensitive soul Craig (Christopher Moynihan) still pines for his college ex, Lisa; and Kenny (Dan Fogler) learns his ex, Brenda (Amanda Detmer), is seeing a guy (Henry Simmons) who is everything he’s not and much better looking. When Craig goes to the extreme to win Lisa back, these friends are faced with an opportunity to be like their forefathers and Man Up.

ONCE UPON A TIME (CTV)
Once Upon a Time is a fairy tale set in modern times. Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), a 28-year-old bail bonds collector has been on her own since she was abandoned as a baby. But when the son she gave up years ago finds her, everything starts to change. Henry (Jared Gilmore) is now 10 years old and in desperate need of Emma’s help. Henry believes that Emma is the missing daughter of Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas). According to his book of fairy tales, they sent her away to protect her from the Evil Queen’s curse, which trapped the fairy tale world forever. Emma isn’t a believer, but when she brings Henry back to Storybrooke, she suspects his strange New England town may be more than it seems. Storybrooke is a magical place where fairy tale characters are alive, frozen in time and can’t remember their true identities. To win the epic battle of good vs. evil, Emma will have to accept her destiny and fight like hell.

PAN AM (CTV)
Pan Am transports viewers to 1963 and the dawn of the Jet Age. As a fast, new luxury airliner takes to the skies, the passengers and crew face a voyage whose landscape is shaped by romance, shifting societal values and even international espionage. Head stewardess Maggie (Christina Ricci) mentors rookie flight attendant Laura (Margot Robbie), while first officer Ted (Michael Mosley) turns on the charm. Passenger or crew, excitement awaits every traveler on PAN AM.

THE PROTECTOR (CTV Two)
The Protector is a procedural drama that centers on divorced mother Gloria Sheppard (Ally Walker) as she juggles her demanding personal and professional life. Gloria is an intuitive LAPD homicide detective who is also raising two boys with the help of her troubled younger brother Davey (Chris Payne Gilbert).

THE SING-OFF (CTV)
The Sing-Off premiered in 2009 as a five-night event hosted by multi-platinum recording artist Nick Lachey. Now expanded to a weekly series, the program showcases the country’s Top Ten a cappella groups performing popular songs like viewers have never heard them before. There’s no lip-synching, back-up bands or safety net. Ben Folds (Ben Folds Five) and Shawn Stockman (Boyz II Men) are the celebrity judges who use their expertise to critique the singers and leave them vying for America’s vote and the ultimate prize – a Sony Music recording contract and $100,000.

THE X FACTOR (CTV and CTV Two)
Talent is out there, and Simon Cowell is determined to find The X Factor. The former American Idol judge’s new singing/competition show is already a hit in the U.K. and around the world. The most buzzed about show of the new Fall Season, The X Factor is looking for undiscovered talent, solo artists and vocal groups, with a $5 million Syco/Sony Music recording contract at stake. The competition is open to both solo artists and groups and has no upper age limit. Each judge is assigned one of four categories —either girls under 25, boys under 25, individuals over 25, or groups (some of which are formed after the audition process). Through the live shows, the judges act as mentors to their category, helping to decide song choices, styling and staging, while judging contestants from other categories; they also compete to ensure that their act wins the competition, thus, making them the winning judge.

UNFORGETTABLE (CTV)
Unforgettable is an intriguing drama series starring Poppy Montgomery as Carrie Wells, an enigmatic former police detective with a rare condition that makes her memory so flawless that every place, conversation, heartbreak and moment of joy is forever embedded in her mind. It’s not just that she doesn’t forget anything – she can’t; except for one thing: the details that would help solve her sister’s long-ago murder. Carrie has tried to put her past behind her, but when she consults on a homicide case, she’s unexpectedly reunited with her ex-boyfriend and partner, NYPD Detective Al Burns (Dylan Walsh).

UP ALL NIGHT (CTV Two)
Up All Night, a modern take on parenthood that shows the challenges of balancing a career, marriage and a new baby. Christina Applegate stars as Reagan, a successful public relations executive, and Will Arnett plays Chris, Reagan’s supportive, stay-at-home husband. The two have just become parents – a surprise that has set their lives on a new path as responsible adults – for the most part. Maya Rudolph stars as Ava, Reagan’s outlandish boss and best friend, whose whirlwind social escapades serve as constant reminders of Reagan’s former carefree life.

Cast: Christina Applegate (SAMANTHA WHO?) as Reagan, Will Arnett (ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT) as Chris, Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids) as Ava, James Pumphrey (HIGH ROAD) as Brian.

WHITNEY (CTV)
A hilarious look at modern love, Whitney is a new multi-camera comedy series about Whitney (Whitney Cummings) and Alex (Chris D’Elia), a happily unmarried couple. Together for five years, the duo is in no rush to get hitched. However, after attending yet another one of their friends’ weddings, Whitney realizes that she and Alex are dangerously close to relationship boredom. Determined not to let that happen, Whitney consults her close circle of opinionated girlfriends – including Lily (Zoe Lister-Jones) and Roxanne (Rhea Seehorn) – and resorts to unconventional methods to fan the flames of her relationship. Even with minor mishaps that end up in an emergency room, Whitney and Alex realize that while their relationship might not be perfect on paper, they really do love each other – and that works for them.

There are plenty of shows to keep us entertained; some with some very familiar faces. There is buzz around the new Charlie’s Angels as well as Grimm. Stay tuned to see how good or not they are.
