Attention to Detail Home Remodeling’s partner electrician installed Solar Panels for a village in Liberia

Update: Attention to Detail Home Remodeling is very proud of our favorite Electrician, James with JDH Electric.

James just returned from a goodwill trip to Liberia(West Ivory Coast of Africa) and installed solar panels in a small, impoverished village, providing much-needed sustainability to the orphanage. Below is a recap of what James and the team did for two weeks.

This solar array is installed in Balama, Liberia, West Africa at an orphanage that has about 100 children.  This system is capable of producing 3000 watts of electricity with the help of our free energy, the sun.  With the help of many, as you can see from the pictures, this was installed in about a week’s time by James (with JDH electric) and other members of the mission team and some hard workers from the village. This was completed during their rainy season but thanks to God, the rains held off so the team could get these installed. Balama is a remote village about 4 hours or so outside of Monrovia by car.  The country of Liberia has little to no electrical infrastructure and most that have power are running on generators.  Therefore, this solar installation will decrease their fuel expense and is also easy to maintain, unlike a generator.  The project materials were funded the overwhelming generosity of private donors and the organization that helps to fund the orphanage, Orphan Aid Liberia.  These children and villiagers live well below the poverty level here in the US and yet, still manage an inspirational and heartwarming smile every day.  They are very thankful for this installation and for the buildings they have – which were also funded by private donors. This story touched our hearts and gave a moment’s pause to think of the kindness of the team and the incredible advances in technology that allowed this mission to be such a wild success  .
