About us

ASF Ltd was established in London in 1996 to create innovative and inspiring musical projects for young musicians and ensembles from all around the world. Led by a team of experienced managers and musicians with an extensive network of musical contacts and partnerships across Europe, ASF Ltd produces quality concerts, festivals and musical projects. 

Since 1996 ASF Ltd has regularly promoted concerts and festivals across Europe. It has administrated contemporary music ensembles, including San Felice Contempoensemble and FLAME, promoting landmark concert series in major venues (e.g. Purcell Room, London; National Museum of Bargello Chamber Music series, Florence) often involving world-class players such as Heinz Holliger. It regularly invites soloists to perform alongside orchestras and ensembles and has been instrumental in the early careers of many aspiring young musicians. It has nurtured many collaborations on a European level and has been awarded EU funding for large-scale projects such as the European Festivals Experience (with partners in France, Italy & Latvia). ASF Ltd is a non-profit organisation.

The aim of the organisation is to promote the performance, study, research and production of music in all its forms including the organisation of concerts, festivals, cultural exchanges, the promotion and production of new musical works, the commissioning of contemporary music works to living composers, the holding of exhibitions for the arts in general and concerts, seminars, workshops, and conventions on musical matters and themes. ASF Ltd is dedicated to encouraging and enabling people of all ages to broaden their musical horizons and experiences, focusing in particular on classical and contemporary music.

STAFF

ANDREA CAVALLARI | executive director

Cavallari studied piano and composition. After graduating from the Music Conservatory he attended courses in composition in London. His music has been played in Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, Great Britain, Poland, Spain, Purtugal, Japan and the United States as well as in major events such as the "Festival dei Due Mondi" at Spoleto, "Documenta" at Kassel, "Festival Ninety-seven" at Cincinnati, Ohio, "Jornadas de Musica del Siglo XX" at Segovia, and the Royal Festival Hall in London. His music has been recorded by Rivoalto (Italy) and Capstone (New York). in 1999 he was Artistic Director of the Festival Estate Fiesolana in Florence. At present he lives and works between Florence and London where he is Artistic Director for the festival FIRENZE SUONA CONTEMPORANEA and co-artistic director for the festival LONDON EAR. MARIA HERNANDEZ TORRES I executive producer

Born and raised in Mexico, she moved to the USA to pursue a B.A in Art History, Conservation and Criticism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After graduating, she moved to Venice, Italy where she interned at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection during the Biennale di Venezia in 2009. Later on she transfered to Florence and pursued a two-year diploma for Qualified Technician in the restoration of works on wood and canvas. 

After completing her diploma, Maria joined the Tornabuoni Art gallery as Marketing, Press and Operations Coordinator from October 2011 to December 2013. In 2014 she moved to London and pursued an Art&Business diploma at Sotheby's Institute. She is currently a freelance in Italy and workis within the Art, Music and Culture spheres. Since 2014 she collaborates with Accademia San Felice.

TAMSIN SMITH | European consultant

Tamsin graduated in Modern Languages from the University of Oxford before moving to Italy in 2002, where she worked as assistant artistic director of the International Festival of Youth Orchestras and the World Sacred Music Week (Settimana di Musica Sacra dal Mondo). She has created and project managed several major European collaboration projects for youth orchestras funded by the EU and in 2005 founded the Provençal Festival of Youth Orchestras. Tamsin has also worked as a freelance concert coordinator for American choirs, orchestras and bands touring in France and the UK. She is a keen amateur musician and plays piano and accordion.
