Barton Springs is a natural limestone pool 1000 ft long, fed 28 million gallons of water each
day by several underground springs.  The pool has a year-round temperature of 68 degrees
and is open for swimming year round.  Barton Springs is part of the 360 acre Zilker Park,
located in south central Austin.  Upper Barton Creek is above the springs and flows through
the Barton Creek Greenbelt.  The picture of Barton Creek above, was taken on upper Barton
Creek southwest of Zilker Park.

Lake Travis on the west side of Austin is a clean, big, and beautiful lake.  Almost 65 miles long and up to 4
miles wide, it has 271 miles of shoreline and many coves.  Some are big party coves, but Travis also has
many quiet and beautiful back to nature ones.  You can have the best of both worlds and choose either.
There are many high cliffs lining the lake, including some pretty ones along part of Pace Bend Park.
