The core membership of Durant include siblings Melissa Lancaster and Kim Lancaster-Brantley, Stephanie Harding, Julie Tracy, William Gooch and Danielle Sprawling. Durant is a family and you just never know who might show up to sing!

The group had its beginnings as X-Changed from Lipscomb University prior to forming Durant. The name “Durant” comes from Melissa Lancaster's grandfather - and Keith's father – Durant Larue Lancaster. After he passed away, Melissa chose to honor his Christian influence in the lives of everyone in the Acappella family by naming her group after him.

Because of their versatility and desire to share their music with people, they embrace a wide variety of musical genres and styles, appealing to a vastly diverse audience.

The album Ride received the CASA nomination for Best Religious album from the Contemporary A Cappella Society, while their album Colorblind features NBC TV show The Sing-Off Winners NOTA as well as several other groups from the hit TV show and many other guest artists, from groups including Acappella, AVB and many more. During their active years, the group toured and traveled around the world, including South Africa, Malawi, Belize, England, Scotland and all across the U.S.
