Ecosal-UK

In 2013 we became founder directors of Ecosal-UK, a not for profit organisation to coordinate the research, promotion and interpretation for traditional salt making sites in the UK.

Lion Salt Works, Cheshire

Originally working for Vale Royal Borough Council Andrew Fielding ws Project Director fo rthe restoration of the last open pan salt works in Cheshire. Advice to Matrix Archaeology regarding mitigation strategy.

Secured £5m grant award from HLF to Vale Royal Borough Council.

Restoration works finally managed by a new unity authority, Cheshire West and Chester Council who opened the Lion Salt Works Museum.

Age Concern Oldham now Age UK Oldham - George Street Chapel

Advice for Stage 1 application to the HLF for the repair and conversion of a Grade ll* derelict Independent Methodist Chapel as a cafe and resource centre for Age Concern-Oldham. A Stage 1 pass was awarded in Dec 2010. Stage 2 submission approved by HLF in Dec 2011 - award of £1m. We acted as heritage monitor and recorder for Age UK Oldham during the capital works in 2013 maintaining and updating a daily blog site and Facebook record of the works. Crystal Salt Production

Discussions with 'Made in Cheshire' to find backers for the creation of a handmade, unrefined, additive free crystal salt made from Cheshire brine. These initiatives were unsuccessful.

Ecosal-Atlantis

2010- 2012 Consultant to Bournemouth University, UK co-ordinators of this EU funded project to create a trail linking sea salt production sites up the Atlantic facing countries of Portugal, Spain, France and the UK.

Ecosal-UK

Established this not-for-profit body as a legacy of the Ecosal Atlantis project in the UK. See current projects.

Salt of the Earth Network

On eth original steering committee member of the Bishop of Birkenhead's Salt of the Earth Network.

Anvil Pottery

Until 2013 we acted as webmaster for Anvil Pottery designing, maintaining and updating their web site.
