Portuguese premier league team SC Olhanense (see comment from Chris Wright, below) played Albanian Super League KF Laçi in a friendly match on Thursday 15th January resulting in an unexpected 0:0 tie.
Amendoeira Golf Resort welcomed football teams SC Olhanense and KF Laçi to the Amendoeira Sports Club at the Amendoeira Golf Resort near Alcantarilha in the Algarve, for a friendly match on Thursday 15th January at 11am.
Olhanense have previously played a friendly match at the Amendoeira Sports Club against Swedish Football team GAIS in March 2011, but this was the first time for KF Laçi.
In this friendly match, both teams were very balanced, with the players putting on a great performance to result in a 0:0 tie.
Olhanense assistant coach Filipe Silvério mentioned that “the match was really balanced against a very competitive team which caused us some difficulties. We are thankful for the organization of this game because it was important training for the next match on Sunday. We wish the best for the Amendoeira team. Thank you.”
Also Armando Cungu, head coach of KF Laçi was impressed with the organization and the conditions of the pitch: “My impression is really very good. I am satisfied for the organization and the conditions in general and especially for the game. I want to thank you for the hospitality”.

There are plenty of games to watch in the Algarve although, like this, not of Premeira Liga standard.
We follow Esperanca de Lagos and enjoy an afternoon watching football with the locals in the sunshine for €2.50. Bargain!
Perhaps Oceanico could form a team to compete in the Algarve League.
