The beginnings of Ercuis

In 1867, Adrien Céleste Pillon opened a silversmith's shop in the small village of Ercuis in the French department of Oise. The young clergyman's intent was not yet to build an empire of high-end silverware, but to religiously edify his fellow citizens and lay the foundation for an economic future for his hometown. His manufactory produced liturgical objects made of silver until his manufactory went bankrupt four years later.

Ercuis – Silverware for top hotels and restaurants

After its resurrection, the silver manufactory Ercuis concentrated on a new market. Ercuis devoted itself to the production of silver cutlery and other silverware. The grand hotels of the Riviera were soon among the most important customers.

Until the second half of the 20th century, Ercuis silverware was used for dining on numerous cruise ships and on the Orient Express. Today, the elegant, flowing shapes of Ercuis' fine silverware can be found in star hotels, on the tables of top restaurateurs and on board VIP airbuses.

Sterling silver and silver-plated cutlery by Ercuis

Ercuis uses a silver alloy that contains copper and nickel to make the silver harder. The tradition of perfection in craftsmanship has been continued by Ercuis over five generations up to the present day. In the Artedona range, you will find sterling silver cutlery and silverplated cutlery as well as numerous original and exclusive table accessories, picture frames, christening gifts made of silver and bar accessories with the charm of the extraordinary.
