How to Configure Your Google WebCam Module

When yor Webcam Module has already been added to your iGoogle Personalized Home Page you must configure it to display your favorite webcam:

1. Click "Edit settings", (top right of your module).
2. "Module title": Write your Module Title.
3. "URL of your WebCam": Here you must type the URL of your favorite webcam [it MUST end with a jpg, gif, png, swf (...) file]. Here's how:
Go to your favorite webcam page (you have a list of sites at the right side of this page and a WebCam search box powered by Google), right click the webcam image, select "Copy image location" (or similar) and paste this link.
4. "Resize Height" and "Resize Width". You can leave the default values or resize your image to fit the window.
5. "Auto Refresh (seconds)". Set auto refresh in seconds; (10 seconds = default)
6. Click "Save".

Does the web-cam automatically refresh or do I have to reload the page?

How do you use webcams from Cam Zone? Seems as though the code is php and doesn't work . . . When I follow your instructions, to get, for example, the Scripps Pier webcam, I don't get a usable URL, or any URL, for that matter . . .

Las instrucciones debieran estar en castellano, y además son complejas y/o a veces no funcionan

Unless I'm not understanding something, all these WebCam modules seem worthless to me. Instructions state, ""URL of your WebCam": Here you must type the URL of your favorite webcam [it MUST end with a jpg, gif, png, swf (...) file]." Absolutely none of the webcam sites I vist have url's that end in any of these filenames. They end in htm, or cam2, or market, or who knows what, but not in a picture file type. And they still display in a browser.

Do you need special software for the webcam to work on the igoogle
homepage? Can't get the images, and I used a site with jpg.

Great gadget - only problem is that for use with Google Desktop, it doesn't auto-refresh. Could you add this feature so it could be adjusted? Thanks!

same thing all the listed webcam sites will not let you copy and paste the image, if you try to to add jpg, png, ot the end of the file name it will not work. What a waste so far.

http://www.baskerville.it/webcam/home.html

The above address ends with "html", not "gif" or "jpeg". So it doesn't bring up the camera when I paste it. I tried adding the suffix gif or jpeg, no luck. Anybody, any idea? Please help! Grazie!

url addresses don't end in .jpg, .gif, etc, so what do you mean by "it must end in .jpg, .gif," etc.?

An ADVANTAGE would be:
the possibility to insert the URL of the Webcam website to get there with just a click into the gadget(maybe on a small button next to the webcam picture)..
