Proximity:

  • A composting enterprise may load Aergestors at one compact site, perhaps an industrial area, and then move the filled Aergestors to where heat is needed such as a institution, gymnasium, factory or poultry farm;
  • HEAT from the static, intensive COMPOSTING without any flames or smells can then be used there over one to three weeks.
  • Then the still-full Aergestor may be moved on to a third and less expensive site, perhaps for further stabilization, before their loads are tipped on the maturing site, which may be the headland of a field where they are to be spread in due course.

Networks:

  • Systems and the time / temperatures of their individual Aergestor loads can be monitored via the Internet.
  • Selected composting parameters may also be controlled remotely.
  • This permits an enterprise to manage and support a whole network of facilities as economically as a single, big plant.
  • Our modular systems make relatively small facilities competitive, especially as the building required by ABPR (Animal By-Product Regulations) can be relatively compact and there is no need for the large areas of concrete necessitated by mechanical shovels shuttling to fill static vessels.
  • This fulfilment of the proximity principle avoids the focussing of heavy traffic in and out of large plants and the cleanliness from having no spills from mechanical shovels makes our facilities more neighbourly.

Logistics:

  • Those highly efficient logistics can be monitored and supported by the enterprise maintaining an auditable database record of all loads and their destination.
  • Maxi-Aergestors (RoRo) maximise payloads on the highway.
  • A city composting service may however minimise the footprint with Maxi-Aergestors (ISO) that are handled by ISO-standard cranes etc.
  • Furthermore those intermodal Aergestors(ISO) could be transported by train, barge or ship and the enterprise capitalise on the splitting capability.

Feedstocks:

  • The chef decides what to 'cook' to please customers, provided he/she has the ingredients.
  • Alpheco supplies 'cooking' equipment to cope with any reasonable recipe and has the practical experience to advise on recipes.

Flowcharts:

  • The intended throughput and required level of stability at the end of the in-vessel phase dictate the number of Aergestors required.
  • The ABPR (Animal By-Products Regulations) dictate the sanitization requirements.
  • Optimum temperatures for stabilization are lower than those for sanitization, which virtually stops the composting process.
  • So composting phase temperatures and times should be pre-set to suit the desired tonnages and feedstocks.
  • Alpheco can also help with the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point plan required under ABPR.
