Angie Bee Artist Statement

Angie followed academic studies until she was 21 and graduated from Downing College, Cambridge in 1992 with an MA. Her first career was in marketing within the publishing industry where her eye for colour and design was very useful. However, it was her copywriting skills that she used most back then.

Angie has been painting for 10 years now and more recently she has been using acrylics which she has fallen in love with for their vibrancy and the myriad ways in which they can be applied. The flexibility of acrylics has allowed her to fully express her passion for the Scottish landscape and the joys she finds in the painting process itself.

In addition to embracing colour and landscape painting Angie has also been working on an idea which had been simmering in the back of her mind for some time. This was brought to fruition in the shape of the Bernard and Betty paintings which combine her love of colour and narrative with her love of Scotland.
