Maintenance Plans
You wisely invested in an intruder alarm system to protect your family, home and possessions. To guarantee that your system will deliver the protection you require at all times, it’s important to keep it in good working order. What if a fault allowed a break-in to go undeterred or undetected? it could be a heartbreak waiting to happen, so why risk it?

There’s no need to worry any longer, Alarms Direct offer a comprehensive service and maintenance plan for all types of alarm systems. Here’s how they work.

Systems Installed By Other Alarm Companies
We don’t just offer service and maintenance contracts to customers with Alarms Direct alarms. We’ll service and maintain any system, installed by any alarm company, and this could cost you from as little as 22p a day.

What will the engineer do during the annual maintenance visit?
The annual preventative maintenance visit is carried out in accordance with British Standard 4737 and includes the following 10-point check:

1. Check installation, location and siting of all equipment and devices against specification.
2. Check operation of all detection devices.
3. Inspect all flexible connections.
4. Check mains and stand-by battery power supplies, including charging rates.
5. Check control unit for correct operation.
6. Check remote signaling equipment physical connections.
7. Test remote signaling equipment communications to the Alarm Receiving Centre. (Applicable to monitored alarm systems only).
8. Check all audible warning and alarm devices.
9. Check system is fully operational.
10. Provide a signed engineer’s report.

 

Newly Installed Alarm Systems
If you purchase a new “bells only” system from Alarms Direct then the first twelve months maintenance is free. The alarm system is sold to you outright and does not form any part of a rental agreement. During the first year the contract is fully inclusive: all parts, call out and labour charges are covered for any equipment-related problems. Anything beyond our control (e.g. vandalism, willful or accidental damage) would be chargeable, however. Also, some companies charge for 'out of normal office hours' calls even during your first twelve months. With Alarms Direct this is not the case.

Twelve months after installation we will return and service the system, at a special price of £55. Payment will be required on the day of the maintenance inspection, this covering you for the following year. Contracts are optional, and cover a maximum period of twelve months, that is to say you are not required to sign up to three, five or ten year periods unlike the contracts with some alarm companies. However it may be a requirement of your insurance company to continue to have your system maintained, particularly if you have negotiated a discount off your premiums. We would recommend you check your position with your insurance company before deciding.

Our callout engineers are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Their response, knowledge and ability is second to none, and priority is given to customers on a service and maintenance contract.

 

The Alarms Direct Service and Maintenance Plan Includes:
• One visit to your property at twelve monthly intervals in order to carry out preventative maintenance in accordance with the program detailed below.
• The provision of an Alarms Direct security engineer call-out facility 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days a year, should you ever need it.
• All labour costs for the callout associated with a breakdown of the system. However, if parts are required these are chargeable (subject to maintenance contract purchased)
