April 2009 - Last Years Outstanding Bull Calf

Perkhill Emperor HO11, our outstanding bull calf from last year, reaches 790 kg at 400 days.  He, along with 20 other young stock, have been scanned and his figures are available  on the Society website.  Overall, he shows good EBV’s with +28 & +34 for terminal and self replacing indexes respectively.  He and Perkhill Black Magic are being prepared for the Royal  Highland Show, our first time in the event!

February 2009 - New Females from Perth
A second Wedderlie cow, with calf at foot, has been purchased at the February Sales to add to the cow & calf purchased last year at the sale.   Three very nice heifers where also purchased, including: Laigh Highgate Emmy, Mosston Muir Duchess & Shelau Kute Pixie.

February 2009 - New Stock Bull

Blelack Woodpecker, a son of Blelack Black Stock, came second in his class at the February 2008 Perth Bull Sales.  He was purchased, 8500 guineas, for his powerful frame and terrific back.

September 2008 - New Females

New female lines have been added to the Perkhill Herd:

- 6 in calf heifers from Glenbervie.

- 4 in calf heifers from Ladycroft.

- 3 heifers from St. Fort.

- 1 heifer from Eastlands.

June 2008 - First Bull Sold

Whinbush Black Duke F085, was the first bull sold from

the Perkhill Herd to Mr Leonard McIntosh for his commercial cattle herd at Durris.   At the 2007 Black

Beauty Bonanza, he was third in his class and was the bull  Charlotte used to win the Junior Handler title.
