Amulet Team

Amulet Devices was founded to provide voice recognition solutions which simplify control of electronic devices. The Amulet Devices management team bring together a combination of exceptional technical expertise with solid experience in starting and building successful software, services, and hardware businesses.

The founders have deep expertise in application of voice recognition technologies and the four members of the senior management team have cumulatively more than 60 years of experience in executive level roles at software startups and high tech organizations.

Garry McMullan

Garry McMullan - Managing Director

Garry has had a broad ranging career spanning technology development, operations management, business development and consultancy. Before heading up Amulet Devices, he was Operations Director at Virtual Access Ireland, responsible for R&D, production and customer service. Garry also took a lead role in support of sales, aiding in the closure of significant accounts.

Prior to Virtual Access, Garry ran his own business consultancy specializing in the use of advanced technology in small companies to create competitive advantage.

Garry has a technology development background that he has enhanced with in-depth business training and experience over the years.

Pat Lawless

Pat Lawless - President, Amulet Devices USA

Pat Lawless is a 25-year veteran of the ICT industry in the U.S. and Ireland with extensive experience developing sales and marketing organizations for start-up companies. His most recent role was with Sogeti Ireland, a CapGemini company, where he was responsible for developing the company’s Microsoft practice.

Before joining Sogeti, Pat was CEO of Numenix Ltd., an Irish telecommunications software company. Prior to Numenix, Pat played senior roles in several other startups including CEO of CE2go.com, Sales Director at FrontOffice Technologies (acquired by NetRight) and Watermark Software (acquired by FileNet, now an IBM company). He began his career in sales management at Microsoft.

Eddy Carroll

Eddy Carroll – Chief Technical Officer

Eddy Carroll has over twenty years experience in the computer and telecommunications industries. Prior to joining Amulet Devices he ran his own software consulting company, Snoopdos Technology Ltd, which offered technical services to technology companies in Ireland and Europe.

Typical work carried by Snoopdos for clients included technical audits of possible investment targets on behalf of venture capital firms; research and feasibility studies for new technology ideas with a view to securing patents on those concepts; code reviews; and technical staff evaluation; as well as more conventional software development projects in the areas of embedded systems, telecommunications and web development.

From 1998 to 2004, Eddy worked with start up telecommunications company Virtual Access, helping to design their range of award-winning network routers. He was lead architect & engineer for their family of enterprise ADSL network routers, a product class still in production today.

Steve Carroll

Steve Collins – Director of Engineering

Steve Collins has twenty-five years experience in the computer and telecommunications industries. As the founder of Amulet Devices, he is responsible for the core technology and vision behind the company's first product, the Amulet Remote.

Prior to founding Amulet Devices, Steve was the Test & Support Group Manager at Virtual Access. Steve formed part of the team which undertook a Management Buyout of Virtual Access (Ireland) Ltd, and subsequently served as Director of Engineering from 2002 to 2004, delivering the key projects required to re-establish Virtual Access in international markets.

Previously, Steve spent five years with Intel Ireland as Test Development Group Manager. This included managing the team responsible for the design and production of the Itanium 64-bit processor functional test system, and developing a complete hands-off automation system for the PC motherboard manufacturing line.
