I have been training since I was 19 years old. Over the years, I have come across and have participated in a few different sports. I soon realised that my passion was in personal training and in helping people achieve their personal goals. Since I achieved my L3 Personal Training qualification, I have never looked back. From there, I strived to achieve more and more knowledge and personal development each year.
In 2013, I achieved my L1 Olympic Weightlifting qualification. I found that variations of these movements work well with clients. I have been doing Olympic weightlifting for my own training and in my eyes, the movements have crossed over into other areas and sports and are great skills to learn. 'The Snatch 'and 'Clean & Jerk', which are the movements of Olympic weightlifting are technical movements that require time and effort to get better at and that’s what I love about them. These movements make you think and use your brain and this keeps training fun and interesting.
In 2015 I was the finalist for the Best Health and Fitness Initiative at the Carlisle Living Awards. This was a great honour, to be nominated by my local community. At the start of 2016, I became part owner of Border City Crossfit Gym, which is where I train my clients from.
