The Pump House Gallery situated in Battersea Park recently held a retrospective of British designer Ken Briggs, focusing on his work for The National Theatre in the 1960s.
His bright, bold designs and Swiss typography quickly established a recognizable and consistent style for the then-fledgling theatre, and the legacy of his work is still visible in the NT’s visual identity today.
A book featuring an extensive interview with Briggs covering his work from this period is now available from Occasional Papers.
