Biography
Began his career in Insurance/Reinsurance
in 1970 with Sun Alliance and London, then with Turegum
( Zurich Group), where he had his first direct involvement
in Run Off issues and solutions in 1973. Moved into Reinsurance
Broking in 1974, covering different classes of business
throughout his career, including first involvement with
Captives in 1979,
Involved with structured
products since 1978. Director of various Lloyds Brokers
since 1982, part of a team head hunted by the C Y Tung
Group in 1984 to take over in 1985 their Lloyds and regional
Broking operations. Part of Management buy out in 1987
and re-establishment of Wackerbarth Hardman as a Lloyds
Broker, which was sold to Minet in 1994.
Worked closely with St
Paul Management ( owner’s of Minet) on their Lloyds
investments and promoted and facilitated Lloyds Corporate
Capital investments by a significant number of the world’s
largest Insurance and Reinsurance Groups. Facilitated
3 Managing Agent sales and was a Director of a Lloyds
Corporate Member on behalf of one major Insurance Group.
Originator of certain Lloyds ‘Gearing’ Reinsurance
structures, which are now widely used by the ‘market’,
as alternatives to direct investment.
Worked informally with
Lloyds on Captive Syndicates and Finite Insurance/Reinsurance
working groups and behind the scenes on the pre approval
of Equitas ( Lloyds Brokers’ contribution etc)
and subsequently post approval on structured settlements
for some of the 10 largest policyholders. Lead Reinsurance
negotiator for the Markitas project ( Company Market
equivalent of Equitas), prior to its suspension in 2001.
Established Advanced Capital
Solutions Limited in 2002 as a Regulated specialist intermediary
and Management Consultancy and obtained the new FSA approval
on 6th November, 2004 with an effective date of 14th
January, 2005. Individually regulated by the FSA.
