Benny (formerly known as Denver) - Adopted 1/6/2007

Benny's new dad writes:

"Denver came into our lives on January 6th, 2007. We had to put our beloved Cocker Spaniel, Zoey, to sleep five days earlier. Against my better judgment, my wife, Melanie was certain that she wanted to look for another dog to join our four-year-old Newfoundland, Eloise. Melanie, and our daughter, Ana, went surfing on the web and one day came across Denver. We had never had a lab, nor been drawn to one, but there was something about the eyes and the temperament that hooked them and reeled them in.

I can now say, I am so glad they were because Denver has come into our house and lives and, as the cliche goes, is far more than we could have asked for. A week or so after living with Denver, we decided that a name change felt right and so, at Ana's suggestion, we have now named him Benny.

To get right to the point, Benny is the easiest and smartest dog we have owned (he's number four). As his description claimed, he is so eager to please. He follows us around and seems ever-grateful for being a part of our family.

The biggest surprise for us has been the relationship that he and Eloise have developed: Ebony and Ivory. They have become wonderful playmates. Benny has a thing for Eloise's ear, and Eloise has amazing patience in being snagged by the ear, jumped on and surprise attacked. Eloise has a thing for Benny's collar and enjoys yanking him around by it. Their favorite activity is a trip to a large enclosed yard where they run like greyhounds. They are strangely fond of high speed, mid-air collisions. After their play time, they often can be found napping next to each other.

We love our dogs, and we believe that there is a depth to the human-dog relationship that is amazing. Benny has made us believe this even more. Thank you to All Dog Rescue for helping us to find Benny and helping Benny to find us!"
