looks really very similar to its predecessor 737-200.

I had known, that airlines can choose between different versions of engines, but I have never seen that one before.

I knew, that Delta never was an Airbus fan. When they inherited some A310s from Pan Am they maybe thought the aircraft looked pretty much the same as their 767-200s !
