Wednesday night I had the opportunity to kick off Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2011 at The Lincoln Center with Jill from Glamamom to cover The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection Fashion Show.

The Heart Truth created it’s symbol, the Red Dress, in 2002 to remind women of the need to protect their heart health and inspire them to take action.

It has been a dream of mine to cover the Red Carpet of a celeb filled event and this experience was beyond my expectations. The carpet was lined with media as we patiently waited for the twenty women in the show to walk down.

The carpet began to fill with the celebrities and designers supporting and raising awareness for heart disease, the #1 killer of women. As they made their way down, I was able to get an up close and personal look at their gorgeous red dresses they were modeling for the show.

Alison Sweeney in Tadashi Shoji:

Julianne House in Swarovski:

Audrina Patridge in Badgley Mischka:

Denise Richards in Matthew Williamson:

Laila Ali in A Pea in the Pod:

Katrina Bowden in Oscar de la Renta:

Linda Gray in Pamella Roland:

Cat Deeley in Alberta Ferretti:

Gayle King in Donna Karan:

Garcelle Beauvais in Monique Lhuillier:

Natasha Bedingfield in Nicole Miller:

Taraji P. Henson in Naeem Khan:

Camila Alves in Kaufman Franco:

Dita Von Teese in Zac Posen:

I even spoke to a few and they told me how heart disease has affected them as well as ways we can be heart healthy:

Throughout the show the celebs strutted their stuff down the catwalk to a song that signified their personality.

Ann Curry in Carmen Marc Valvo:

Eva Amurri in Chris Benz:

Dita Von Teese:

Denise Richards:

Suzanne Somers is Ina Soltani:

Giuliana Rancic in Notte by Marchesa:

Natasha Bedingfield returned to the runway to perform her latest single, “Strip Me,” and even got the audience involved swaying their hands.

The show ended with a grande finale as all of the models walked the runway to Katy Perry’s “Fireworks.” The crowd cheered for each celebrity as they made their way down to the end of the catwalk for one final wave.

After the show we ran into some of the models again as well as some celebs that attended.

The night was a dream come true and was an amazing experience. Thank you to Jill from Glamamom for the company. It was incredible to attend and cover an event that supports a great cause.
