The winners were announced at the BANG Awards evening at Davy’s Wine Bar, Canary Wharf on May 26th. Daman Dev Sood MBCI nominated by Andy Tomkinson for Business Continuity Manager of the Year defeats stiff competition in Asia to win the accolade in Mumbai last night 30 Sep 09.  Thanking Andy for his support Daman said, "I am honoured and delighted, thanks for your contribution to my success".

Sue Stallard has been invited to run the next two sessions at the South Midlands BCI Forum, on the subject of rehearsals.  Following a showing of the BCI DVD “Practice makes Perfect” the attendees were keen to develop their skills further in this respect.

The first session, 11th September, will take the members through how to develop the necessary supporting scripts and main events list to perform a role play rehearsal.  The following session will see the members being exercised using their own inputs from the first session.

Andy and Ian attended the EPS Conference in Torquay. Ian, in his capacity of Chair of the EPS Business Continuity Professional Working Group ran a workshop on the subject of training and exercising.

Andy and Wayne Harrop also supported the workshop; Wayne giving an overview of the new national exercise guidance and Andy who used a very interactive approach to examine some of the Do’s and Don’ts of how to conduct a rehearsal. Due to a last minute cancellation of one of the keynote speakers, Ian and Wayne stepped up to the mark and co-presented on the Tuesday morning.

Ian Speirs MBCI receives the first ever BS25999 BSI Lead Auditors course certificate during his first meeting as Chairman of the Emergency Planning Society Business Continuity Working Group. Adtapt have now joined the BSI Associate Consultant Programme.

The Emergency Planning Society BCPWG met today at the Adtapt offices at Sterling House to discuss current events. Ian Speirs was appointed Chairman

BCI Symposium in Amsterdam with the Adtapt team all there.  As ever, mixing business with pleasure.  Sue Stallard chaired Peter Power and Jamie Jamieson, no mean feat and Angela clogging up the website with mean feet.  Andy stole the limelight as master of ceremonies (see picture) but was later voted out in the X Factor style Balloon Debate.  Will Desert Island Discs ever be the same again?

Adtapt is four years old today!

Six intrepid recruits MARCHED through the BIAs, to ATTACK mission critical processes, DRILLED down Incident Management Plans and RAN rehearsals to WIN the BATTLE of Business Continuity! At the pass out parade the debrief was:

“one of the most insightful risk courses I’ve attended”
“Cuts through confusion and rhetoric going back to core focus of BCM as it should be”

What a great night. Lorna Anderson from Aegon achieves a 'Highly Commended' as runner up for Manager of the Year only to be pipped at the post by Sue Stallard previously DHL now Adtapt winning Manager of the Year.

Adtapt sponsored the 'Oscar' for best Software product with Andy presenting the award to eBRP.

Congratulations to all the nominees and those shortlisted especially Jamie Mackillop Aegon (Newcomer), Trevor Williams Tenon (Newcomer), The MoD (Strategy) and Joanna Hole MoD (Public Sector Manager).

A good night was had by one and all. As usual the Adtapt tables were the loudest and the best dancers!
