Who´s Active Planet?
Active Planet Ltd is a UK-registered social enterprise organisation based in London. We are an independent, not-for-profit organisation working with local partners and groups in low-income communities to improve health, safety and lifelong learning.

Active Planet was set up by Phil Amos (see Slim Phil Project below) as a way to invest in deprived communities using sport as a tool. Our current range of programmes include after-school sports coaching, holiday sports and arts camps, Under 5 balance and coordination classes, parent-and-child programmes, adult evening sports classes.

We work with young people at risk and engage them into positive and social activities such as training courses, work experience placements, mentoring and sports projects. So far this year, Active Planet in collaboration with Millennium Volunteers have diverted over 30 young people aged between 16 and 25 from anti-social activities into training courses and employment opportunities as qualified sports coaches and community youth workers. At least five of them found employment.

What´s New
Sadly, one of our coaches, Anthony, has gone to work for a Professional Football Club. We wish him best of luck.

Phil's trip to Brazil
- the main purpose of this trip is for Phil to learn more about Futsal.

- Futsal is the format of Small Sided Football that is recognised and supported by FIFA and UEFA with World and European Championships for club and National Teams

SLIM Phil Project (Would you like to sponsor it?)
Phil's aim is to loose weight to raise money for our Futsal community development programme. He is aiming at loosing 3 stones over the next three months with a break in the middle.   Donations from you could help sports teams for children from disadvantaged communities and purchase equipment for young people to use.

If you would like to sponsor an Active Planet Community Project like this, please contact Phil or our office on 020 8743 4442.

Active Planet Fundamentals (Under 5's)
Basic physical skills such as running, balancing, crawling, skipping, hopping, jumping
Social skills such as the importance of working with others and communicating
Awareness of the body and what's around them
Acknowledgement of shapes, patterns, colours and numbers
All our coaches are CRB checked and trained to work with under 5 year olds.

With Active Planet, you are guaranteed that your child is safe with us.

Active Planet runs sessions for under 5 year olds in Holland Park on Saturday mornings, from 10.00am until 12.00pm.

Active Planet Fundamentals sessions are delivered in conjunction with National Curriculum standards and ensures that your child learns the basics in movement, health and physical activity in a safe and fun environment.

In the Community
Active Planet's Community Project is currently running a daily camp in Fulham at Eelbrook Common and in East Acton at the Old Oak Community Centre. These are both run at a reduced rate for local families and are currently targeting around 80 children per day. The children are taking part in Futsal, Multi-sports, Street Dance, Art and Nutrition activities.

We are lucky to receive funding for these projects but some of the funding is coming to an end this year. If you or your company/business are interested in sponsoring an event or camp please feel free to contact us. In the past we have received some amazing donations that have enabled us to work with hard to reach young people in local estates.

Active Planet is unique in it's structure in that we have two sides to our business and some of the projects we have run could not have taken place if it wasn't for some of the investment from our regular clients.
