Probably not, but you need a second layer of brown. If the old paint is dirty, he can also do a favor and wash the walls with TSP. It is an economical way to ensure a good surface for coffee.

Fill the holes with a heart of sand to fill all being painted with sand paper around 120 ripped. Seal primers within filled areas. Parties readily available sand. Wash all walls with sugar soap, once dry, two coats of satin.
