Not seen this before http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxCD1D2I8cQ good video

Who's the no 14 and goalkeeper? It should be shown to the team before all cup matches.

What was the attendance? Before my time as a steward

Is that Altytunnel steward with hair at the end?

The 14 is Charlie Bradshaw. Spurs were going to sign him until they sussed out how old he actually was.

The Keeper, Joe Paladino,  a Boxer rather more than a footballer as he proved when he 'sparkled' a guy at the end of the match.

Yes it was me and yes I did have hair but it was the best part of 20 years ago

A little bit of my life has been completed tonight.

Alty V Chester is on Youtube.

This was my Rotherham....what a great night that was.

The 14 was Charlie Bradshaw, a winger from Emley that Gerry Quinn brought,  Could be brillant one week and terrible the next but was very quick.

Tottenham saw him have a blinder at Slough and offered £100,000 for him until they found out he was 27 not 24 and they pulled out.

Its not ATS on there but there is a fresh faced Gazelle.

Joe appears 2 minutes later on it but thats been cut.

What a video...

Joe Paladino - part time boxer was the keeper.

Bradshaw - almost went to Spurs.

I think it was around 3,000 mate which may have been our limited capacity then.

Cult will know.  What a night that was.  I'm getting emotional watching it!

Packed Golf road, Tuesday night game, big away support, great goals, bbc coverage...superb

At the final whistle he says:

"And that it...Altrincham have done it...the side from the GM Vauxhall Conference have beaten the side from the 4th division of the football league"..and then Mark Harris comes on the PA and announces that we have just equalled the record for victories over league clubs.

Note to current players....these nights are pretty enjoyable lads!!

I was only 11 then but I was on the video coverage on the pitch at the end (just before Joe is on it). It was ace going into school the next day and for the first time in my life other people who would normally have taken the piss actually enthused about Alty's performance.

Watching Freeman's goal nearly brings tears to my eyes. It was one of the greatest moments of my life as an Alty fan.

Couple of chester players that night.....neil morton and barry butler later to star for alty....and of course graham barrow.

I likd paladino's completely false oh no I'm stuck cannot possibly free myself and then ar$e wiggle at the chester fans.

Yep a great night.....for some alty fans the greatest but it really didn't come close to the Rotherhams, sheff utds etc.

Ecky,

The official attendance was indeed 3,000, which was probably what Trafford Council limited us to back then.

However, the game actually took place on a Wednesday night (25th November 1992).

Marvellous memories....and great to see that ex-Northwich donkey Graham Abel being denied by Paladino's late save.

Anyone recall an interview with Clive Freeman (in his dazzling pink jacket) being broadcast on BBC North West News the following day?

Strange season, that one.
25th November....and we still hadn't won a league match at Moss Lane.
