A very rare example of unusually small size, in fruitwood and elm

With lift up seat. With fielded panels to front and sides. Glorious rich mellow colour.

English, circa 1730-60

Chippendale Period Walnut Side Chair

Elegant back with open-work vase-shaped splat. Elaborately carved top rail featuring acanthus scrolls and other decoration. Serpentine shaped seat with gradooned edging. Cabriole legs capped with acanthus scroll, and terminating in ball and claw feet.
