Community Development Project

Project overview

Making space for Worship, Ministry and the Community

Our community building project will allow us to provide a greater service to both the church and community and by this we hope to share the news of God’s love.

We have been active behind the scenes in 2011. We have developed our initial plans and sought permissions and advice from church advisors and other advisors such as English Heritage. We have appointed JBKS Architects to manage the project. We have also built business plans and other documentation to help with our external fundraising.

We’ve continued to communicate our project through the media, our own magazines and also by the Open Day in April 11. We also have a regularly updated exhibition in church. We welcome ideas for any other means of communication as we recognise how important it is to keep everyone informed.

2012 has already seen the movement of the font into the heart of the worship area where we can all join in the sacrament of baptism. Later in the year we plan to install a new heating system which we hope will be funded by the congregation.

In Spring we intend to begin our external funding for the development of the area where the font was previously situated. With the help of the community we have clarified some of the proposed uses of the new space.
