Provident Offshore Services
You can now maintain Bank Accounts in US Dollars in Belize. Provident Bank & Trust of Belize Limited is a licensed financial institution in Belize that can conduct banking business (either personal or corporate) in US Dollars for non-residents of Belize. This includes Belizeans residing abroad.
Accounts with Provident Bank & Trust are not subject to any local taxes or to exchange control restrictions. Funds are freely transferred in and out of Belize in US Dollars without any conversions taking place.
We pay interest on demand deposit accounts with balances above US$ 3000.00 and we open certificates of deposits with balances above US$ 25,000.00.
Our correspondent Banks include Hibernia National Bank of New Orleans, Louisiana, Southwest Bank of Houston, Texas and Midland Bank PLC of London.
Our requirements for opening accounts are as follows:
1. Copies of passports for all signatories on the account. The copies are to show picture and personal data of the holder. Such copies will need to be notarized if the signatory is not present in Belize at the time the account is opened.
2. Bankers' reference on all signatories on the account. Such reference must be from a recognized bank and should cover at least two years banking experience. References from lawyer or accountants may be considered in substitution of bankers' reference.
3. Specimen signatures of all signatories on the account. Such signatures must be notarized or authenticated by a recognized bank if the signatory is not present in Belize.
4. In the case of a company account, in addition to the above, we also require
- Certificate of Incorporation (notarized if company is not certified in Belize)
- Article and Memorandum of Association
- Certificate of good standing
5. Declaration of residency of all parties on the account, in the case of a company. Full street and country address is also required for all parties on the account.
6. Completion of all bank opening forms.
7. Initial minimum deposit of US$ 1000.00.
