Micronesian Community Network (MCN)

The Micronesian Community Network is an organized group of up and coming Micronesian leaders. MCN members are mostly from the Freely Associated States in Micronesia, namely, the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM: Chuuk, Kosrae, Pohnpei, and Yap), the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau. With assistance of  Mrs.  Mary Matayoshi from the Hawaii Volunteer Resource Center and Mrs. Barbara Tom, a Public Health nurse, MCN’s organization and activities have been funded through a Mo Bettah Grant from the Hawaii Community Foundation. MCN has a Vision of empowering the Micronesian Community to be successful, healthy, and as a unified group in Hawaii. Its Mission is to facilitate the assimilation and harmony of Micronesians in Hawaii. MCN hopes to accomplish this through 4 Goals:
1.    to promote communication, harmony, and unity among Micronesians with the local culture;
2.    to facilitate access to services including health systems and housing;
3.    to develop and improve education, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills; and
4.    to enhance and foster a model Micronesian
