Steve's Wagon List:: 960 Wagon , 2 S70 Wagons, 940 Turbo Wagon , 240 Wagon

I've been a Volvo afficionado for quite a while now. Everything from the 122's to the S80's have graced my driveway at one time or another. Since a couple of folks have actually bought vehicles from me here, I thought I would provide a brief synopsis of the vehicles I have at the moment.

This will be done no more than once a month and will only be listed here.

1997 Volvo 960 Wagon (VIN# YV1KW9606V1038847 - Burgundy) - $3500

This 960 Wagon was extensively maintained by Nalley Volvo (45 records in all). The top end of the engine was rebuilt by Nalley Volvo at 155k and the transmission was replaced at 166k. The interior is in excellent condition. The exterior looks nice but it does have scratches and dents that are commensurate with a vehicle that has 175k. It's remained in Georgia for it's entire life and has a perfect Carfax & Autocheck report. You can view the Autocheck report and four pictures of the vehicle on the Craigslist link below.

1994 Volvo 940 Turbo Wagon (VIN# YV1JW9317R1118666 - Black) - $2000

This 940 Turbo wagon was also maintained at Nalley Volvo (16 records in all). The leather is free of rips, tears, or fade and the door panels don't have the scrunched up trim on top that usually occurs with mid-90's Volvos from the Southeast. The owner put a 200k emblem on the front grille (209k overall) and it will probably reach 210k since I drive it about two to three times a week. It does have wear on the hood as well as minor scratches on the side. A/C works perfectly as does the sunroof and the premium sound system with Blaupunkt CD player. It had a 'moderate' accident back in 1995 and it can be seen here under the Craigslist link below

2000 Volvo V70 SE Wagon (VIN# YV1LW61JXY2643777 - Navy Blue) - $6500

We took this one on a 2000 mile road trip last December to visit family and friends. It averaged 30.5 MPG which MAY be a gallon or so off, but in 50/50 town/city driving my wife has registered a consistent 25-26 mpg average. Over 15 pages of records from Gwinnett Place Volvo come with the V70 SE and the 105k maintenance was done by Northpoint Volvo which includes the often overlooked valve adjustment. It's immaculate. The only defect we've experienced is that rear tailgate sensor which Volvo still doesn't want to acknowledge as a trouble-prone item, but the tailgate closes perfectly and everything else is in perfect working order. This wagon was in one accident back in 2001 which Carfax describes as 'slight' and Autocheck describes as 'minor'.

1998 Volvo V70 Wagon (VIN# YV1lW558XW2445277 - Red) - $5000

This V70 was owned by a family that apparently had a member involved with Congress since the initial lienholder was the Congressional Federal Creidt Union. It was used a family commuter judging by the three names that were on the title, and was maintained every 10k either at a Volvo dealership or a Volvo specialist in Georgia (154k miles overall). The paint and interior on the wagon is gorgeous. In fact my sister-in-law thought I had purchased a brand new one when we drove it up to New York to attend a Bat Mitzvah. It is a non-turbo, has Michelins all the way around, and has a perfect Carfax and Autocheck record.

1989 Volvo 240 GL Wagon - (VIN# YV1AX8850K1814364 - Sky Blue) - $2000

Thanks to very heavy tint and a diligent prior owner, this 240 is in very good mechanical and cosmetic condition. The leather seats have virtually no fade, and evenrything from the power windows to the heated seats are working exactly as they should. There has been close to $2000 put into it over the past couple of years. The fellow who owned it actually spent over a half hour with me talking about the vehicle and obviously put a lot of care into it. The odometer is showing 157k, but that's optomistic. The fellow told me they drove it approximately 50k miles in the last five years, so I would estimate mileage to be over 200k. The Carfax and Autocheck history is perfect.

These postings will go on the Brickboard no more than once a month. The prices I post here are firm. But as you can see with my Craigslist listings, I provide Autocheck records on every vehicle as well as a very detailed description. I do it because it makes life easy, and honest, for everyone. By the way, this combination helped me attain a 100% positive feedback rating on Ebay for over four years.

I can be reached at steven.lang@duke.edu or at (770) 262-9880. Thanks and all the best.
