Bamberg - Tourist Centre

With an estimated 144,000 bookings and 260.000 overnight stays, Bamberg attracts more tourists than any other city in Upper Franconia. Around 70,000 overnight stays can be attributed to conference tourism

The majority of tourists can be accounted for by city tourists,conference participants and "cultural" tourists..

The main highlights for the city tourists include Bamberg's historic and picturesque centre and its interesting museums and galleries. Culturally, Bamberg has gained international acclaim through the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. Further cultural gems are the E.T.A. Hoffmann Theatre and the annual Caldéron open-air festival plays, which have likewise grown into attractions for international guests.

For several years now, the town has witnessed a positive trend in the number of hotel bookings and overnight stays recorded, with 1991 and 1992 proving to be exceptionally good years.
