Fish-Ladder

Providing up and downstream passage for migratory fish at hydro-electric power generating stations is an important environmental requirement. 

CFD analysis permits Blue Hill Hydraulics to predict flow patterns that develop in fish-passes, whether they are of a standard design (e.g., the Denil to the right) or a complex arrangement of interconnecting steps, ponds, and channels.

Interestingly enough, certain flow characteristics that are appropriate for some fish species and not appropriate for others so its important to get the design right if fish-passage is to be successful.
