I have been following the fortunes of the HAWORTH families of Church and Oswaldtwistle for some time now and every time I saw a new census it felt like I was catching up with village gossip after a long absence, and comments like 'Oh, they've had another 3 children' or 'Henry has died and mother-in-law has moved in' sprang to mind. I always tried to find out more about each person and this used to be on the site on a 'Notes' page. Ages ago I started as a bit of fun to plot their family trees and found it much easier to find errors in the data and also to keep the information consistent.

So here, again with the usual health warnings about checking back to the primary sources and letting me know when I have made a mistake, are the family trees of the HAWORTH families. Each family is listed by number and who the head of the family was. If you are looking for a particular ancestor you may find it easier to access these trees via the HAWORTH Notes and Index as some people just don't fit into a tree or I have no extra data on them beyond their census information.

Since starting the individual family trees I have come to realise how much the families of the area intermarried. For instance, a member of my own family (18) married into family 19. In another instance three girls from one WALSH family married into three different HAWORTH families. I decided to show this linking by drawing up a tree for all the HAWORTHs and the result so far can be at the HAWORTH tree.
