Jason Kelce will join ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” after retiring from the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this year, according to a person with knowledge of the deal. The person confirmed the deal to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity on Monday because it was not expected to be announced until the ESPN/Disney upfront presentation to advertisers on May 14. The Athletic was the first to report on Kelce’s choice. Kelce is expected to replace Robert Griffin III, who would continue with the network as a college football analyst. Kelce played 13 years for the Eagles. He was the most sought after former player by the networks for the upcoming season. He participated in last year’s NFL Broadcasting and Media Workshop.

Matt Ryan, who retired last week after 15 years in the NFL, will join CBS Sports as a studio analyst on “The NFL Today” and Phil Simms and Boomer Esiason will leave after long runs on the show. Ryan will join James Brown, Nate Burleson, Bill Cowher and JJ Watt. The 2016 NFL MVP and four-time Pro Bowl quarterback joined CBS Sports last season as an NFL game analyst and appeared in studio during the playoffs and Super Bowl. The contracts of Simms and Esiason expired after the Super Bowl. Simms and Esiason were with the network for two decades.

John Krasinski doesn’t usually worry about reviews. But for his new film “IF,” he is “genuinely terrified” of the response from two people: His daughters. “IF,” about a young girl (Cailey Fleming) and her neighbor (Ryan Reynolds) who can see everyone’s imaginary friends including those that have gotten left behind, is one of this summer’s major studio releases opening on May 17. In a landscape full of brands and franchises, it’s the rare original idea that has the backing of a big studio, Paramount, and an ambitious scale and scope  with an army of celebrity voices including Steve Carell, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Matt Damon.

Harvey Weinstein's lawyer says the onetime movie mogul has been hospitalized for a battery of tests after his return to New York City following an appeals court ruling nullifying his 2020 rape conviction. Attorney Arthur Aidala said Weinstein was moved to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan after his arrival on Friday to city jails. On Thursday, the New York Court of Appeals vacated his conviction after concluding that a trial judge permitted too much evidence not directly related to the charges he faced. The 72-year-old Weinstein has been ailing with a variety of afflictions, including cardiac issues, diabetes, sleep apnea and eye problems.

Sean “Diddy” Combs has pushed back against a woman’s lawsuit that accused him of sexual assault. Combs’ lawyers filed a motion Friday to dismiss some claims that were not under law when the alleged incident occurred. The motion claims he cannot be sued because certain laws didn’t exist when Joi Dickerson-Neal made the allegations against him in 1991. The music mogul’s lawyers want certain statutes from Dickerson-Neal’s claims such as revenge porn and human trafficking to be dismissed with prejudice. In a filing last year, she says Combs “intentionally drugged” her, then brought her home and sexually assaulted her after a date in Harlem when she was a 19-year-old college student.
