Mean City is my only claim to fame, I know it's sad but hey I got my name in a computer game. I designed it after playing one of my mates traveller RPG games. Basically his game was set on a massive ship and one of the onboard activities was this game.

You and your opponent were teleported into this landscape, all you had on you was your headset, oh and of course your camouflaged  jump suit but alas no weapons. The landscape consisted of trees, river, some huts - it was basically a countryside setting. You had to search around for equipment that enabled you to defeat your adversary.

Once in a while you receive information over your headset, the information consisted of various co-ordinates of where special weapons, shields, IR goggles and various other equipment had been teleported into. That's when the tactics start do you wait and ambush the other guy when he gets there or do you go for it before the other guy get's it.

Some of the equipment assured you of victory, that was one great RPG.

So the game was based loosely on that, but we had to cut all the equipment drops and you had to collect the 4 parts of a cell key instead with aliens chasing you!!

I know nothing like the original game but I thought I would let you know it's roots - however bizarre they may seem.

The game was released back in 1987 under the Quicksilva label.

Here is a picture of the inlay card for the disk version, the pictures may take sometime to load!!
