Juxtapose; for the community of graphic design communication educators and the students at Chelsea, is all about retaining the established values of our practice as a creative and intellectual endeavour, whilst demoting banality to ensure that it’s always about pitching the big idea that challenges the brief and is beautifully realised. We consistently strive to embrace change by juxtaposing design problems, with high-octane ideas and securing innovation through visualisation with high level presentation and flair.

With an emphasis on exclusive live projects, our graduates have achieved a comprehensive grounding in the core principles of graphic design and critical awareness, to fully exercise their creative minds, intuition and skills. Project outcomes and portfolios evidence work in design for print and moving image supported by innovative research and analysis all conveyed through creative blogs.

Our strong links with industry are evidenced by the opportunity for our students to engage
with live briefs, introduced by practitioners
and clients across a range of specialist areas,
and with internationally recognised Professional Design Award schemes and exclusive commissions. An emphasis on collaborative projects dealing with youth/orientated issues, brands, products and services, constitute a key element of the course and outcomes are published online, in live broadcasts and in print. We perpetuate a need to consistently change and contextualise what we think about, what we make and critical enquiry informs our studio practice and encourages students to consider their design practice within a broader cultural context.
