The purpose of this program is to provide knowledge and skills to individuals interested in a career in Immigration.
This training will enable interested individuals to work as Employees of Immigration lawyers and licensed consultants (Full Members of CSIC - Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants), Immigration Agents, or employees of Government and private organizations assisting immigration to Canada clients.
This program is also designed to assist individuals who have all prerequisites to become Immigration Consultants to prepare for the CSIC knowledge examination.
In order for individuals to work as Immigration Consultants, it is necessary to become a fully licensed member of CSIC. This requirement includes having a minimum education and immigration training level as well as the passing of English language and immigration knowledge examinations. It also requires payment of membership fees, liability insurance, police clearance, etc. The financial cost is several thousand dollars not including rent, furniture, advertising, etc.
The option of working in the immigration business as an employee (assistant to a lawyer or licensed consultant) is a viable option for many individuals interested in a career in immigration - especially at the beginning. This option is less expensive and gives you the opportunity to gain valuable experience, receive earnings, and assess if you like to a career in Immigration without sacrificing a great deal of time and making a large financial investment. If you like, you may then wish to pursue a career as a fully licensed Immigration Consultant or continue to work as an employee (assistant) or an Agent of a licensed consultant.
