I believe in a pupil centred approach to
music teaching and tailor my teaching to fit the individual. People want
to gain different things and work in different ways with unique
strengths and varying challenges. It is important that the lessons
reflect this and that each person enjoys their playing and gains the
skills they need. The piano could be considered the most complete musical instrument as it can take on the melody, harmonies and rhythms of a piece of music. It is a very effective solo instrument and is a good starting point for learning music theory and for learning other instruments, as all the notes are set out in front of you on the keyboard. It is also possible to produce a satisfying result in a reasonably short space of time.
