Alarm Panels
CDK Electronics Ltd. produces a number of refrigeration control
and monitoring/alarm panels aimed at differing size stores. From
hard wired systems to full RS485 networked systems.
Microscan - This is the smallest
of our alarm panels and is designed for small retail outlets that
require temperature point monitoring only. Probes are fitted within
the cases and connect directly to the panel; up to 16 probes can
be fitted along with 16 plant fault inputs. Each probe has an associated
defrost status input. Temperature point can be programmed with separate
alarm bands and delays. There is a dial out and alarm output facility
for remote alarm indication.
Features Include:
- Low cost and simple installation
- User friendly controls
- Full Temperature Alarm Facilities
- Defrost Indication and Inhibit facilities
- Plant alarm facility
- Data logging of temp and alarm file
- Printer facilities

Multiscan - The Multiscan is a serial
system, supporting up to 60 network devices spread across its 2 RS485
network loops. Network devices can be case controllers, plant controllers,
digital input boards or relay boards. The Multiscan provides great
flexibility with its 96 temperature control and monitoring channels,
192 alarm channels, 8 Pack control channels. There are also 64 channels
of 1 minute 24 hour logs, 128 channels of long term data logs, full
defrost control, electric or hot gas.
The panel is fitted with a ¼ VGA LCD display with backlight
providing multi line and graphical displays, a custom designed multi
keypad and a floppy-disk drive using standard IBM PC format high-density
disks.
This panel will also interface with a modem enabling full bi-directional
data communications, PC terminal software is also available.
Storescan III - This is the largest
and perhaps the most successful panel to date. Geared primarily
around the bigger stores where a large number of networked controllers
are required. The panel will connect to 240 network devices via
its 8 RS485 channels as standard, a further 8 channels are available
if required. The panel is based on an industrial computer and uses
a hard disk to store the program, configuration and up to 4 month's
worth of data logs. There is a floppy-disk drive that uses OS9000
format floppy disks and CDK can provide software to read and write
these disks on a standard PC or laptop.
The panel provides temperature, pack, defrost and lighting control,
configuration is split into 122 temperature stubs, each of which
containing up to 8 network controllers. Pack control units can interface
with the Storescan III, enabling pressure optimisation and energy
savings.
The Storescan III also has the ability to interface with
the store groups' internal TCP/IP network, allowing data to be extracted
to a central server. Data can be served from a standard web server
and accessed through a standard web browser. New developments will
allow the use of data analysis on this returned data for fault finding
and increased service efficiency.
Pack Controllers
CDK manufacture a range of Pack control equipment ranging from
Step controllers up to full PID multi-pack control. We also produce
a number of trip monitor boards for use as pressure trips.
Step Controllers - Up to 15 stages
of pressure control. The standard step controller provides 8 outputs
and an alarm output, with an additional 7 outputs available as an
expansion unit. The unit is provided with a RS485 network interface
for connection to a Multiscan unit.
Compressor Controller - has the same specification as the
step controller, but includes a full PID control algorithm for better
control and energy savings.
Inverter Controller - the Inverter Controller provides 4
channels of 0 - 10volt variable outputs for inverter drive control,
it incorporates a full PID control algorithm and also links into
a Multiscan RS485 network.
DC68 Pack Controller - is a multi-pack
controller, capable of controlling up to 4 packs and 4 condensers
via pack I/O Units.
The DC68 Pack Controller uses advanced PID control algorithms to
control the compressors and the condenser fans. There are a large
number of parameters that can be readily changed to tune the performance
of the pack as required.
An RS485 network provides connectivity to a Storescan III alarm
and monitoring panel to form an integrated temperature and pressure
control system, with the ability to float pressure set points to
satisfy case temperatures.
Case Controllers
CDK produces a range of case and coldroom controllers to
complement our range of panels. Many of our controllers are
multipurpose with the operational functionality being determined
by bit switch selection.
MC850 - The MC850 has been our
standard controller for many years. It is capable of network
or stand-alone control and is equally suited for case and
coldroom control, can be fitted with an LED display and fans
/ cleaning key switch.
The MC850 will interface with both the Storescan III and Multiscan
panels, linking together to provide a complete refrigeration
control package.

MC10 - The MC10 is CDKs latest controller.
It is an adaptation of our popular MC850 but has been extended to
use standard PT1000 type probes as well as our own 2k2 Thermistor
probes.
DC1xx - The DC1xx range of controllers
have been specifically designed for use with the Multiscan alarm
panel.
The DC1xx are normally supplied as a complete control package, built
into control panels for case or coldroom. The output relays are
capable of switching 20amps which eliminates the requirements for
additional switching circuits.
Miscellaneous Network Devices
In addition to our range of controllers we also have a number of
input and output network modules that can be used for monitoring
various areas within the store, available for both the Storescan
III and Multiscan panels.
Plant/Digital Input Boards - Plant/Digital
input boards are used for plant status within the store, pack faults,
defrost status, etc.
Relay Boards - relay boards provide
remote switching of external devices such as lighting control or
pack header stations.
Temperature Monitoring Boards -
Multi way temperature input boards are available for monitoring
remote points, such as integrals and coldrooms.
Power Monitoring - The Storescan III
panel also supports power monitoring, power transducers can be fitted
to plant and ancillary equipment, which are then monitored by network
power monitoring units, the data then being recorded in the panel.
Older Products Support Policy
Over the past 16 years CDK Electronics Ltd has produced an
ever-developing range of products, we currently support over 300
separate lines, ranging from those controls listed above to older
non-standard production items. We operate a product support policy,
which means that we can supply technical information for any product
and even supply spares or alternative product to meet the customers
need, even if we stopped making the range 10 years ago.
