Notice something different? If you arrived here directly from Circle of Moms today you probably saw our new look, which we just unveiled to a portion of our members. We hope that those of you who have seen it are as pleased as we are by the changes.
As with everything we do at Circle of Moms, the redesign of the site was undertaken in partnership with our members. We all felt that the site needed a makeover, a look that more accurately reflects the vibrance of a community that’s now almost 10 million strong. So we talked to some of our most active contributors and asked them what they’d like to see change. And we spent a lot of time analyzing usage patterns to figure out what was working and what needed some help. Then we went back to the drawing board to come up with a happier and more energized color palette, some brand new functionality for Child Space (coming later in the summer), and a slew of changes to the interface that are designed to make it much easier to use Circle of Moms.
Here’s the catch: it might not be easier at first. While we love the changes and think you will too, we’re pretty sure that some of you will be wishing for the old site–at first. We do appreciate that it can feel very frustrating to have something that you use frequently up and change on you. So we’re hoping that you’ll allow yourself some time to get used to the new look, which we think is a breath of fresh air, and also allow us some time to work out the glitches.
In the meantime, please let us know what you think of the redesign and how else we can improve Circle of Moms for you; we’re all ears!

I like the new layout, but not the colour, ok i’m not a pink person, but as i have a son, i don’t really want his page to be pink, can’t you make it a nutural colour!!
Don’t mind the new colors….LOVE them actually but I’m not sure why the menus don’t drop down anymore? I have to actually click on “communities” and wait for it to change pages. Is this just temporary? I’m guessing you’re still working out the kinks so if at all possible can you please fix it and allow the menus to drop down again?!!

Hi Rachel, Thanks for taking the time to leave us some feedback. We hear you about the pink! We will soon be adding the ability to customize the color scheme. Look for a blue option to start, with more to follow.
I don’t mind the new layout but it’s not always loading properly. My security settings keep asking me to give permission and I do but it still won’t load properly.
Not a fan of the colors either. Hopefully we can pick the color scheme ourselves soon enough.
Dana, We’re aware of the lag and working to fix it. In the meantime, I apologize for the inconvenience. If you experience this again, refresh your screen and it should load more promptly.
Amie, Can you provide a little more information about the problem you’re experiencing? When you say you’re prompted to provide your permission repeatedly, do you mean your log-in information (username and paassword), or something else? With your help we will get to the bottom of this.
It’s still not allowing the menus to drop down? I apologize if it’s still in the works but I find it extremely annoying.
The “My Children”, “Me & My Circle” and the “My Communities” don’t drop down at all from the main page. In order for me to get to the communities I have to click on “my communities”, wait for it to change pages and then choose from there. For example, it makes it difficult if I want to post a link to my (PBS) community…I have to change pages, copy the link, then change pages again and go back into the conversation I was having. I hope this makes sense and I’m truly not being pushy….I’m just not sure that you understood me the first time? My apologies if you have and you’re still working on it!??

Its ugly. It is glaring and offensive. The links don’t work, the menus don’t work. This is just so nasty.
Nice new look….but Im still in love with the old one. It had that calm appearance in it. The new colours are a bit too loud.
I like it bt the first layout was better,anyway i dont care about the layout as long as my questions are answered n we help each other about our children is cute…we learn from each other hey.i wonder who came up with this idea,well done to u ur a genius!

The options aren’t working. The layout isn’t at all convenient. Heck the options suck too. You can’t change your font even & no smilies?

Navigation is a bitch. It took a bit to find out how to get my alerts even. Oh and those aren’t working either. I only know an alert if I visit the home page. fantastic (sarcasm)

I’m having some problems after the new look.
If I click on conversation it doesn’t reload and I keep on having to go back to the “My communities” button to refresh. Also it is very slow to reload. I know that is not my computer because everything else is working fine, just when I’m refreshing COM.
I love what you done with it, the first thing I thought of was you had done it for breast awareness. It is so cool. As with all new things it takes time to get the bugs out, we just need to be patient. Thanks
I don’t mind the new colors. I actually really like them they are vibrant and refreshing. As a designer you need a catchy and clever logo to fit in with the new look and color scheme. Hey I’m a designer quadrantcreations.com how about that. However I did notice the menus don’t drop I have to actually click on the button and wait for it to change pages. I like the colors and thanks for supply this is a really helpful site for moms! It’s awesome to talk to all mothers on all topics rather than just your mother law or sister…lol.
Dana, Amie, and Iris, The development team is looking into the issues you’ve raised (slow load times and menus not dropping down). These issues should resolve in the next week, and as I have updates I will share them here. If anyone else if having these problems please let us know.

I also don’t mind the layout but the font is soo tiny and the colours seem to clash terribly! I found it really hard to read things because of the colours.
I’ll still visit the site though even if it is PINK 😉 COM is a great site and colours don’t mean everything but it did make me cringe when the new layout flashed up.

…I like the changes but NOT to the kids space pages, I liked it better when my childs pic was displayed bigger in the upper left hand corner, the first thing you seen. Now the pic is sooo tee tiny, I dont like that. And when you change the “background” color…nothing changes except the under color that no one sees, it would be nice to personalize just a bit more. Over all LOVE having kids space!!

Although I am noticing a lot of white when I look at my communities as a whole. It almost hurts my eyes, not pleasant that’s for sure. I love the idea though.
And the more I’m looking at it, the more I see the white doesn’t go away when you go into a group. I guess I need more pink, lol. Also I loved the fact before the change groups would say when the last update/post was, it doesn’t anymore. Guess I’m starting to not like the change, I love the pink, but not all the white. Sorry.
I see that the time update is there, but not the “a moment a go” and so on that you used to have. I love how the m’s touch btw that’s so cute!

Last night is when my format of the site changed. All in all, I think it’s a good change that I’m just going to have to get used to. My menus are working fine. The one complaint I have is that the pages are taking very long to load and if I refresh it just seems to slow it down more. But if there was a way to work on the speed of loading, I’d be totally happy with this new layout. Well done! 🙂

I really like the colors but i find the orange too hard to read. I also find the layout for the “suggestion” conversations kind of difficult to see the title of the question. I like that we can see what group it is in but maybe that could go under the question instead of over it because i really could care less what community it is in. I would rather just help:)
Ok, the layout is fine, the pink is fine, but for someone that already has eyesight problems, its very hard to read the yellow. For whatever reason I really have to focus for the yellow not to be a blurr. Oter than that everything else is great.
I don’t like the new colors. The orange is very hard to read, the website looks unfinished and the font is WAY too small. there are a lot of links not working and loading issues that are bothersome.
The tabs on the right hand side are nice and the layout in itself isn’t bad. I just wish the page showed a bit more structure instead of being a free flowing mass of posts. I preferred when the posts were contained in their own “box” instead of simply be separated by one line.

I have noticed that when replying to a conversation you are taken to a blank page rather than back to the conversation after adding your comment.
Any way to have the page return to the conversation you just posted in, rather than having to go back to the forum list via the conversation tab?
The box to post comments in – WAY too small. It makes it hard to check for errors or edit before replying.
Other than that – it’s great!
I love the new layout but I can’t get the badge to show on my page! All my other circle friends have the badge on the lower left side of their profile but mine went missing! How do I get it back?!
I like the new look, but since yesterday I have been unable to login via facebook. Is this a temporary glitch? I am on an iPad which may be why, but it did work yesterday morning. The ‘login via facebook’ button just doesn’t work,

I like the color stream it fits in to the “modern woman” idea. But the background, white, is a little to bright and sterile. maybe we can offset some patterns on the main page?

I miss the old look. I am lost, confused and feeling out of place. I guess I’ll have to get used to it. Have been having trouble with getting updates on my children to post to my FB profile. All it shoes is their picture and my name. No link to get to the update. Not sure what went wrong. *sigh*
With the current layout I get head aches, if it doesn’t change, I wont be able to continue coming to your site. I would like either a background color or picture, but my head is hurting just from me typing this, I can not tolerate the new layout. Sorry. I’m not a big fan of the new layout and color scheme. I just don’t see the need to fix something that’s not broken. But if there is an option to revert back to the old colors, or at least customize that would be helpful.

I don’t like that you can’t choose your own color scheme on your child’s page. My childrens info is all down the left side of the page. There’s nothing to look at unless you scroll all the way down the page. I love pink, but others may not be. A more neutral, earthy color is better in my opinion.
I do appreciate the hard work that is going into the site. I just hope to see some major improvements in the near future.
I would love for the child space to stop asking for updates, milestones, and quotes from my oldest. I have updated the page several times with his date of death. Yet, no where on the page is it listed, and the page functions as if he were still alive. If you want to put that option in the info, it would be nice if it would add to the child’s space and disable updates, etc.

I like the layout but sometimes the pages don’t load properly. It will not allow me to go to the my comunities tab. The page just stays blank but my browser is telling me it’s done loading.
The line of text that says, “Yes, you’re in the right place. Welcome to our fresh new look. What do you think?” is cut in half, so only the bottom half of each letter is visible (Chrome Browser)

I like the simplicity of the new look, but I have to object on the pink as well. I may be a mommy, but my son and I are not into pink at all. My daughter is the only one around here who is. Hopefully you guys e=get the customizable pages going quickly. Question: will they be just pick a color customizations or will those of us who know HTML & CSS be able to use that, too?

Find it rather frustrating that you can no longer go back to your Facebook profile from the Circle of Moms page. The only option is to logout of both sites. Can you please put back this function so we can easily navigate between the two sites, or change the coding so that Circle of Moms opens in a new window and doesn’t replace the Facebook page we enter from.
Other than that, all changes look ok, but not had a good look round.
I like pink but not for my son’s page something natural would have been good.

I am a designer, so I THINK BEFORE IS MUCH BETTER THAN THIS.. Please bring back the old one, it has everything that I LOVED… and it is more organized and the logo is way to much fun than this one.. Modern layout is okay, a little bold at first.
Not sure if I like the pink – I have a son and think it would be neat if you kept the same pattern and what not but we were able to change the banner colour to blue for boys’ pages :)Obviously the pink is okay for my daughters page, but evena t that I prefer purple 🙂

I love the new layout and colours but what i don’t like is when you add lots of pics it adds each individual pic on your profile, just looks silly rather than just the whole albumn or how many new pics you have added. This probably doesn’t make sense.

I love the new look. Pink is one of my favorite colors. I also agree with some of the other mom’s. I would be nice if we could change the color for the boys page. I dont think they would be to happy with the color pink. Other than that, I like it alot. It would also be nice if we could re-arrange our page layout to our likings and add different widgets for ourselves and other moms to enjoy when they visit our profiles. Nice look, alot better than the old one.

Too much pink on the new Circle of Mom’s makeover. Also, I keep having to refresh my page when I add or delete one of my moms in my circle.
I like the new design however I agree with Rachel. It would be nice to have a drop box where wee have the ability to change our own themes or skin whatever you want to call it. Just like you would with your profile on MySpace. They allow you to change your own background to however you want it to be. Can circle of mom set up their website like myspace has theirs where wqe can change our background or theme to whatever we want it to be in order to fit our own unique personality? Also I would like to see Circle of mom have a chat messenger installed on your website so that we will be able to see who all is online so we will have easier access to be able to meet and chat with other moms on the COM website. I have been a member for a short time and I would like to meet other moms that share my interest and if I see them online the same time I am it would be great to be able to pop open the chat messenger or chat window and talk to them that way. Is it possible for COM website to provide that for us. I am interested in seeing who all is online the same time I am. Is there anyway you can put a button on our profile like ICQ does that says this person is online. and when they log off the COM website it will say they are offline. I think that is neat.
I love the new layout and color scheme. But I cannot find the link to leave a community. I read the FAQs and the instructions there did not help. I combed the page from top to bottom for the link and it isn’t there.
The only thing that really bothers me is the font size. It is hurting my eyes trying to read through all the posts in such tiny fonts! A friend of mine on C.O.M thinks it might be a combination of the tiny font and the orange fonts on the white backing that is hurting her eyes. We both use C.O.M daily and are hoping that at least the font is bumped up to a larger size soon! Other than that we love it!

i actually do not like it an would like to be able to manuver around it as easy as it was to manuver around the site the way it was..sorry i do have a girl but do not like the pink how do we change it? an how come it’s not so easy to get back to my facebook page..i like the way the picture use to be bigger of my child on her page an wish it was still that way please put it back the way it was..although i know that won’t happen i just have to be honest..i like how easy it was an this way sorta suks!!! i love having a site like this but i don’t like the changes..but i guess i’ll just have to deal with it!! it’s not like you will actually change it back to the way it was.. is it possible to make the option to have classic circle of moms or the updated version for those who do not want the new version???
I love the new lay out and especially the color!!!!! It is a great way to show support to all of the moms out there that have either fought breast cancer, fighting breast cancer or who sadly lost their battle with breast cancer. WAY TO GO CIRCLE OF MOMS!!!!!!!!!!
I’m not overly fussed with the layout or colours – my main issue is having a link to get back to Facebook easily. It was an issue I had with the previous layout too and means I need to go back to my browser ‘favourites’ to get back to FB instead of being able to click and interchange between CoM and FB.

I don’t think it is all that great. You shouldn’t need time to love a site, it should be easy to use and navigate. I like the old look and format much more. The bright orange links aren’t helping because it makes it harder to find and also doesn’t do anything to strengthen the structure of the page. Bleh. I don’t care about what colour it is, format and navigation are key.
I don’t like the colors at all. Something more nuetral would be better. I also don’t like the fact that it opens a new browser when I want to go back to facebook. Everything else seems fine though.

this is vicky from circle of moms. We are very excited to hear your feedback on the new design. It is very important that we offer the best experiences to all of you, so please keep the feedback coming!
We heard loud and clear that:
1. the orange links are too hard to read: we changed the shade of orange to a darker one. We will keep listening to your feedback though and make additional changes if needed
2. there are some page loading issues: indeed, we had some issues with IE7 that we managed to discover faster thanks to your feedback (and we thank you for that!). These issues have been addressed. Let us know if you still have any problems
3. some log in/log out issues: these have also been addressed
Regarding other feedback:
@crystal @ mathilda & ticia – we hear your feedback about the photo size on the child space. There are two views of the childspace: the way you see it as the mom and the way others see it as ‘fans’ of your child. For the mom view we focused on making it easier to post updates (that is why the photo is smaller). For the fans we focused on the ability to see the latest updates and a larger photo of the child. You do raise a good point though and we definitely take your feedback in consideration for our next iteration
@helen – it is as if you read our minds! we will soon add new fun icons to complement the new colors. stay tuned!
@laura – the alerts appear when you have a new alert. if you dont have a new alert, you dont see the link. We did receive several complaints about this, so we will soon add this link back
@sara & @kristin – there will be a blue color for child space coming soon!
@shannon – we will look into the badge issue that you are experiencing

I have had only 2 issues when I was adding father and grandparents to my children’s pages it sent requests to other people and the grandparents. Also I loaded a pic to my group and it said it did not load and did not appear when I reloaded it, so i uploaded again. When it reloaded the second time i had 2 of the same pictures.

I dont really like the color scheme , i use to spend hours in the forums and getting advice and what not , now im done to about 10 to 15 mins , the colors give me a headache , a nice blue scheme would probably set off all the white that is showing now instead of bright white bright orange and purple .
I hav a question to ask about the badges that you can recieve in COM? What do I have to do in order to get more badges? I go to nother profile’s and see a lot of badges that other women have obtained. I think I only have 3 or 4. What do I have to do in COM in order to be awarded more badges that what I have? I have asked several women that have badges I did not even know we could get through COM however they have not replied back to me to tell me what they did in order to get awarded those badges. Can someone at COM please tell me How I can be awarded more badges on COM. thank you

I don’t like how small the space is to reply to posts. Why can’t they be big like this one? I like to type out my response, re read and edit it before posting it. Its very hard to do that with such a small reply box.

i dont like the new layout i find it hard to read and i can’t find any thing the old way was better same as the old facebook was better!! why keep changing things when its not needed!!
I like it, but I’d like to have some color options. I have a son and I’d like to have some blue, green, maybe even some orange. Pink is nice, but I’d just like to have the option to choose the color for my son’s profile.

Unsure about the new site. However, I was wondering if there was anyway of getting to our posts that we have posted? I had messages from other moms regarding posts that I left, but after some time, I don’t remember what some of them were. Is there any way to access them again? Maybe I am just overlooking them, if I am..I apologize!

I think the new update is crap i havent been able to update anything since May 19, 5:35 pm and thats not byh choice. since your website update i have not been able to add any mile stones height weight or any progession. so all my hard work into updating my childs site is gone now. I have to buy a baby book becuase the site no longer works for me. I used to be a amazing site until recent update its makes me sad but if it doesnt change im going to delete my account!

Hating the new colour scheme. Why do people automatically assume that as we are mothers ie women, we all like pink? I can’t stand the colour stereotypes anyway and don’t see why they have to be inflicted upon us at every turn.
I don’t like the new colors at all. The layout is ok, but I think the older layout was much easier to navigate.
Why isn’t there a profile box anymore? That was my favorite part of the whole application. 😦
I like it, just dont like the colors.. but I guess you cant make everyone happy!
It’s ok, not mad about the colours though.
I keeps making me sign up all over again and i dont understand why, it dont really care for it .

I’m not able to get to the second or following pages of a thread in any of the conversations. The only way to link to an additional page is through an email. Can someone address why this is happening?
I love the new look. But disliking that I can’t view any other pages when it comes to looking at the children contests and can’t view what place my son took.
I like the fact that the site is more modern in appearance but not being a fan of pink I don’t care for the colors. I have tried using the “help” and all it does is bring me back to the home page. When I used the FAQ sheet and I clicked on a link all it did was bring me back to the FAQ page. I am sure that you are working on these glitches and hopefully you will have them fixed. Also I cannot find where to ask a question whatsoever unless it’s asking a question to specific mothers that are part of my circle….which is not what I am looking for. Hopefully things will get easier with use and glitches will be fixed.

@laura the alerts link now appears on the top right hand side. it will appear there if you have new alerts, or alerts you have not taken an action yet
we are still working on addressing the rest of your comments/requests.

I love it, I think its cute & all .. but there’s so much on it my computer has a really hard time running it. There are a lot of things I can’t do anymore, like leave milestones because the dropdown menus don’t work ..
Not a big fan of the pink on every page. I love the color, just not for my sons page….

My previous problems are gone, thank you. But now I have a new problem: I only get 21 posts per page and some of our threads are up to 100+ posts. I can only see the first and the last page, that is if I click on the last reply. If there is any way for me to change this then I don’t know how..
its um ok…..not to much for the pink idea..liked the old look alot & loved having it close on my profile now i cant have it on there but a tab!!! stinks 😦 disappointed actully
I am alright with it (although I did sort of like how the original options to work the child page was set up before)
I am not really too much into the pink (as first I do have a boy and second, I really am not a pink fan =P) I would really like to be able to set my own preferred color and/or a possibility to at least change my son’s to something neutral or more boy-oriented.
Otherwise it seems rather great!

I am really loving all the new looks and colors but I am having a real hard time accessing my inbox. It says I have 4 messages but after I click it, there is a blank page. I have refreshed mulitple times, hit the back button and sent 2 different e-mails on this matter but nothing is working. 😦 I need help please.
I don’t know where to go for my sons situation,he broke his fibula and tibula playing football and oh my goodness has this been hell! Anyone out there that has any suggestions for bathing and how to get upstairs without being carried I’m all ears! His cast goes from his toes to his groin and I can’t carry him because I’m disabled because of my second pregnancy screwed up my back severely! PLEASE any suggestions??

I really don not like that the topics on my homepage do not show how many Moms have responded, the alert link is always moved around. It’s never the same page twice and its making me insane.
I also do not like that when I select to a conversation, then hit the back button to go back to the list of conversations, it takes me back to page 1 even if my last page was page six
I THINK IT PRETTY COOL, I THINK ALL CHILD OR CHILDRENS CONCERNS SHOULD BE MORE FORWARDED IN EVERY SUBJECT, IM GOING TO TRY AND START ONE BUT OAGE LOOKS GREAT
i like the new layout but since it got redone nothing seems to work right anymore !! my children keep on disappearing , nobody gets my family invites. its kind of annoying. i dont even check it that much anymore just for that reason.

The website is cute but I dont like the colors. Its too bright and the colors are clashing. Change the colors and make the background a little darker…..
Would LOVE more options for changing the background on my child’s space! I have 2 boys & just use the baby blue strips, but they are 8 and 11. Why not have lots of themes geared for many age groups like astronomy, transportation, nature, sports… I could keep going! Then some more tailored to girls like ballet, ribbons, flowers, hearts, etc. Oh, then some for the BABIES! Diapers, pacifiers, teddy bears, and more. I’m getting too excited here… is that something you guys might be working on? Please??
Well I have two 16 year old daughters and I never potty trianed them. I’ve was so busy at work and my wife has a hard job to. So I tried to potty trian them lat weekend and they refused and it turns out all of there 12 friends stil wear diapers so my kids, say mom( yes,I’m a lesbian) we love wearing diapers you never have to get up and go to the bath room. So what should I do?
