Why are Choice Fresh Meals chilled and not frozen?
Choice Fresh Meals wishes to provide our customers with the best tasting and highest quality food so we have chosen to provide chilled rather than frozen meals. This approach also allows us to cook meals to order.
How do I reheat my meals?
How long will the meals keep?

Our meals have a ‘use by date’ of three days fridge and 3 months freezer from the date of delivery.  This assumes that the meals are kept at or below 5° in the fridge.

Can I freeze the meals once I receive them?
It is perfectly safe to freeze most of our meals.  Many of our customers order enough meals for an extended period of time (say a week) and they freeze the meals that they will not consume in the first three days.  We recommend that if meals are to be frozen, they are placed in the freezer when they are first received, rather than at the end of their refrigerated life.  Also, meals should be re-heated in the oven or microwave directly from the freezer.  Do not thaw them first.  Please note that some of our meals, such as the salads and some desserts such as Pavlova and Mousse are not designed to be frozen and are referenced as DNF (Do not Freeze)
How can I be sure that the meals I order are safe?
Choice Fresh Meals has implemented a thorough and rigorous food safety programme.  This programme is audited by an independent third party on a regular basis and an external food safety consultant reviews our performance on a fortnightly basis.  All our chilling areas and our food delivery vans are temperature monitored on a continuous basis to ensure the meals are delivered in the safest possible state.  For more information, please see our Food Safety Information Sheet.
