The UMI Arts Big Talk One Fire Indigenous Cultural Festival is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts and culture from Far North Queensland.

THE BIG TALK ONE FIRE FESTIVAL INCLUDES:

**** The UMI Arts Indigenous Markets ****
As part of the UMI Arts Big Talk One Fire Indigenous Cultural Festival, the Markets bring together authentic traditional and contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music, dance and story telling, as well as arts, crafts and clothing stalls. Everything at the Markets is created, sold and performed by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of Far North Queensland. Gather your family and friends and settle in for hours of entertainment, fun and shopping at Cairns’ unique Indigenous Markets.

Friday 20 August, 4pm-9pm: Free event
Sunday 22 August, 11am-3pm: Free event


**** Pathways Exhibition ****
The Pathways exhibition showcases selected works from more than twenty Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from around the Far North Queensland region. Each of these artists has participated in a UMI Arts skills-based program called Exhibition Ready and are at various stages of their careers. Works from artists showcased in the exhibition include Joey Laifoo, Ceferino Sabatino, Shaun Edwards, Napolean Oui, Billy Missi, Kel Williams, Lea Ambrum-Stevens, Gertrude Ygosse and many more. Works will be for sale.

**** Big Talk ONe Fire Cultural Celebration ****
This unique event extends the cultural experience of CIAF. Stay in Cairns for just a little longer, for on the Monday (23rd) and Tuesday (24th) following CIAF, Far North Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, musicians and performers - including Black Image and the Hope Vale Dancers - celebrate and showcase the breadth and diversity of Indigenous culture from the region. On the Monday, the Small Brother Small Sister component showcases performances by Indigenous school children from the Cairns region.
