Assemblies / Drawings

At Firefree Coatings, we provide a comprehensive range of assembly drawings for projects that require fire retardant coatings. Our offerings include a diverse array of structures, such as wood and gypsum assemblies for floor-ceiling, roof-ceiling, walls, and finished ceilings, all with fire resistance ratings ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

For wood assemblies, we offer floor-ceiling systems with 1-hour ratings (e.g., WFC101, WFC102) and 2-hour ratings (e.g., WFC201, WFC202), as well as roof-ceiling assemblies with 1-hour ratings (e.g., WRC101, WRC102). Additionally, we provide wall assemblies with 2-hour fire resistance ratings (e.g., WW201, WW202).

Our gypsum assemblies cover a variety of floor-ceiling and wall configurations, including 1-hour floor-ceiling assemblies (e.g., GFC101, GFC102) and 2-hour options (e.g., GFC201, GFC202), as well as 1-hour (e.g., GW101, GW102) and 2-hour (e.g., GW201, GW202) wall assemblies.

We also offer plaster assemblies with both 1-hour (e.g., PC101, PC102) and 2-hour (e.g., PC201, PC202) floor-ceiling systems, as well as 1-hour (e.g., PW101, PW102) and 2-hour (e.g., PW201, PW202) wall configurations. Additionally, our embossed tin assemblies provide a unique aesthetic with 1-hour (e.g., TC101, TC102) and 2-hour (e.g., TC201, TC202) floor-ceiling systems.

You can contact us for detailed information or specific assembly drawings, referencing the FF File numbers provided in our listings. These drawings are crucial for ensuring that projects meet the necessary fire safety standards while utilizing our Firefree 88® fire retardant coatings.

Firefree 88® Technical

Firefree 88® is a highly effective fire retardant coating that has been rigorously tested to meet a wide range of fire safety standards. One of the key tests it has passed is the ASTM E-84 Steiner Tunnel Test, which evaluates the flame spread & smoke development of materials like Douglas fir, cement board, carbon fiber, and various composites. This test is crucial for determining how quickly a fire can spread & how much smoke is produced, which are critical factors in fire safety.

In addition to ASTM E-84, Firefree 88® has undergone testing according to the British standards BS 476 Part 6 & 7, demonstrating its effectiveness on materials such as timber and gypsum board. It has also been evaluated in Room Corner Tests, including UBC 8-2 and NFPA 286, to assess its performance in preventing fire spread in realistic scenarios. Additionally, it has been tested according to ASTM E-119 and CAN & ULC-S101 for wall assemblies, with ratings up to two hours, indicating its ability to maintain structural integrity during a fire.

For international standards, it meets the requirements of the Australian Standard AS 1530.4 and the European Standard EN 13501-1. Safety is also a priority, as evidenced by Firefree 88®'s toxicity assessments, including the BSS-7239-88 Boeing test and the University of Pittsburgh's Combustion Product Toxicity test. Its smoke density has been evaluated under ASTM E-662-97, ensuring it is safe for use in various environments.
