Disney Princess Jasmine Halloween Tutorial
10:13 PMWellllllcome to Agrabah! City of Makeup and Enchantment. ;D
That's how it went, right? That's how it goes in my version anyway. I think if I had three wishes from Aladdin's Genie I would probably ask for 1. everyone to have hope, 2. everyone to have empathy, and 3. everyone to have something that makes them incessantly happy.
I just realized I have, or like to think I have, all 3 of those things so I can spoil all of you with my wishes. ^_______^
Oh, and free makeup. HAHAHAwishfailIonlyget3.
So I'm really excited (and terrified) to share with you all my Princess Jasmine tutorial. I'd like to eventually cover all the Disney girls but I thought Halloween would be a great opportunity to cover my favorite iconic princess. The only caveat I have is her insanely sexy outfit! I must have been a very sassy child because I had no problems with the costume then but I find myself being rather self-conscious in it now!

Just because I can, here are some adorable Jasmine pics I grabbed from Google Images:
And here's my version:
Get 10% off your order with code "JEN10" valid until 12/14 (my birthday ^_^ and nope, I don't get anything from the code, it's just for you guys ;)
Note the arm in front of my stomach to somewhat protect my modesty because I was feeling more like...
But no really, I did feel very exposed in this outfit since I happen to be a pretty conservative person! But hubby approved of the video and he took the pics so I guess I'm okay. See what I do for you? lol.
I do want to mention that in terms of fit, the lion costume fit me much better than this one. Although the pants fit really well around the hips, the legs were far too long and I had to use elastics around my ankles so that they didn't hang down. I'm not sure if you can see, but it has built-in shorts so the pants themselves aren't too exposed. As for the top, all I can say is that I had to use a ton of double-stick tape to keep my bra from showing. I am not wearing this outside the house lest I flash someone fo-sho! Seriously, it fit weird and the back of the top kept wanting to ride up. Maybe a nu-bra would be a better option for wearing this out, but I obviously wasn't smart enough to realize this at the time I was recording. XD
Oh, and I also wanted to thank Joyce Jewelry for these earrings from a while back (you may remember them from this post) and Catherine from See Jewelry who sent me this bracelet which only matched the outfit because it was sparkly and matched my nails. Which still 100% works out in my book.
Thank you everyone for your well-wishes. I am starting to get better but there are a few straggling coughs left. Hopefully I can get some more rest this week and have some really cool posts up before the end of October. Sorry to my twitter peeps because I haven't been as active on there due to being super busy and work and resting at home but I promise I am trying to reply to people as much as I can. It's actually the best way to ask me quick questions. ^_^
It's late again, oh noes! Time for another sleep and another chance at feeling better for tomorrow!

ReplyDeleteYou look amazing! I know how you feel about being modest and such, but since you are naturally gorgeous, just flaunt it while you can! You always do it right anyway--classy but not trashy! :) Later down the road, you'll look back and think to yourself or say to your grandchildren, "See, I was hot back in the day..." lol Great tutorial and pictures! I love this tutorial! Great job on Jasmine! And even if you are conservative in dress, you still look great! lol, I wouldn't be able to wear that period, gotta get in shape first haha! But dig the makeup. You should do Mulan next! lol she's my fave disney character, but not a princess ; ;
ReplyDeleteThis was a great look! I never thought much of Jasmine one way or the other, but you look so adorable as her that I'm now a fan! And I guess your hubby is a lot less conservative than mine haha... he probably wouldn't let me out of the house in something like that :P And to answer your question, I'm almost a year older than you, birthday 12/5... yay for December babies! :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I loved this tutorial and you look great :)

I love this look! You pull off an amazingly striking resemblance to Princess Jasmine. I love your Halloween tuts.. they're beautiful, detailed, and very helpful!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better ^^
Hello, I stumbled onto your blog a month ago, and all your tutorials have given my make-up routine soooo much more sophistication! For that, I sincerely thank you and so does the bf. lol. As an asian, it was difficult for me to adapt standard make-up techniques to flatter my eyes, or so I feel.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have made an appointment to the dermatologist to request an acne wash like yours to hopefully cure me of my acne riddled skin. Anyway, I just wanted to give you props for your FABULOUS blog!!!!! I am now quit a frequent visitor. ;)
-Kora
Hi Jen Could you please make a video of you on how to remove such heavy make-ups and your skin care routine video??

pandaphilia.com
oh it's sooo pretty!!! Your eyes really did look so so much bigger because of the falsies!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to ask you, the 'gloss stick' from Laura Mercier that you used in the video, is it really a gloss stick, as in it feels really moisturizing, light and well, glossy, or is it just the name and it actually feels like a lipstick? I wanted to try it out, but I don't really like lipstick since they can feel a bit heavy :P
AND... do you work out? XD Is it me or you somewhat have abs XD !!
Amazing job, Jen! I'm so impressed-- you look adorable!
ReplyDeleteI honestly think you are one of the most naturally beautiful makeup guru out there. You are soo talented! I love all your costumes from nowdiscountshoes. :)
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing!! The hair, the makeup, the costume.. :D Wow!! The lip color is GORGEOUS on you!! Seriously.
ReplyDeleteamazing!
ReplyDeleteYou are so so gorgeous! Love your tutorial.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could pull off that costume like you do XP

ReplyDeleteYo so PRETTY~~~~~~~~~
ReplyDeleteYou have really charming face.
wow
Keep up the great work ~
goooooorgeous, girl ^3^ u are so cute! ^__^
ReplyDeletehana: No, I'm not wearing eyelid tape. I've actually only worn tape maybe 2 times since March. Really been preferring wearing false eyelashes instead. ^_^
ReplyDeleteCaroline :]: Thank you, hehe. You can't get the flu shot unless you are healthy! But I will keep it in mind for when I get well. ;)
Anonymous: I do already have a skincare routine post and video (you can find it under labels on the side bar) but I am planning on doing a "how to remove makeup" video in the future.
soiia: Laura Mercier stickglosses are lipsticks in look but yes they are glossy and very moisturizing. It's one of my favorite lipsticks! and lol about the abs. my workout schedule is not regular, but I do eat healthy. ;)
Jen!
ReplyDeleteThis is SOO pretty!
Im definitely going to try this this year!
If I can request can you do a Ariel tutorial?
thank you!

ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty! Love this look! Jasmine has always been my favorite Disney princess too! I remember back in elementary school, my friends and I would sing "A Whole New World" at recess...hahaha. Ah, good times. Thanks for bringing me back. lol =) Keep up the great work Jen!
ReplyDeleteah i love ittt
ReplyDeleteman i wish Mulan was an actual disney princess since she's oriental xD haha
thank you for the tutorial :)
i love that photo where you're trying to cover urself haha. cute!
This is such a cool tutorial! I really love the eye makeup. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG. Absolutely stunning - love how you focused on the eyes, which is one of Jasmine's most prominent (and lovely) features!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the last pic. Lol.
Can't wait to see your other 'Disney' princess looks! :)
As a final point, you know how Halloween goes - they said it bset in Mean girls haha! I say work it, you have the body for it and you look great!!!
Aw you look so cute! You are one of the most gorgeous makeup gurus I know and you can really work that thick eyeliner. Thanks to you, my sister and I started our own beauty blog! Please make more Halloween tutorials!
ReplyDeleteomg jen i really loved this look and am excited to see what else you do for the other disney pricesses/ladies. i loved princess jasmine too and dressed up as her for halloween once. i think what it was about the modesty was that the child's costume was actually a 1-piece outfit. i seem to remember there was a nude piece of fabric sewn between the top and the pants so little girls weren't showing off their mid-drifts! great job, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteahlav it! you're a stunning Jasmine :) love, love, love! you're a true Princess :) me, my fave Disney princess is Belle. Maybe you can also do a tutorial of that. :) Awesome job jen! keep it up God Bless :)
ReplyDeleteyou look absolutely gorgeous as Jasmine! OMG I want to try it out too but I don't think I can pull it off :(
ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely stunning!
ReplyDeleteGreat talent!
This is so gorgeous! You did awesome!
ReplyDelete~Caro~
Gorgeous! You always give such great and easy to follow tutorials. I actually really wanted to be Jasmine this year and love your costume--I can't find it anywhere though! I know this is crazy, but since you said that you wouldn't wear it in public, maybe you could sell it to me? :-)
ReplyDelete~Kelly (kbell349@gmail.com)
Oo My god, love your facial expression on the last photo!!
ReplyDeleteOmq, that's so pretty! Love the makeup and accessory!
ReplyDeleteif my daughter saw this tutorial she would go nuts. she loves princess jasmine and recently got her costume from disneyworld. loving the tutorial though!
ReplyDeletelol 'see what i do for you'
